oh tough one...
always better to have everything as close to original as possible, even though there are some people claiming that they have gotten a different drive to boot games than was originally equipped with that xbox after the update re-flashed the drive's fw

Elcappo: do you have a beta-disc of Halo to try it?
Because i'm not very convinced about answers of ppl from callcenters (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I've seen no reports of ppl having that beta-disc booted on hitachi drives

No, i dont have that XGD3 beta disc but... i know someone that have it and it reports me that works after update on HITACHI 46, 59 and 79 drives!
Btw... c4eva said when he talks about new sys upd reflash and xgd3 that "HITACHIS ARE IGNORED"
they works man! EOS!

Well I downloaded the update and installed it thru USB while offline. a couple of things to note :

1) the 'original' drive of the console was a samsung m28. trying the update, I got the E66 error while on CFW.
2) the spoofed drive I have is a hitachi 57 (or 59 not sure). with CFW, the update installed correctly. I didn't need to reflash, because it reads everything fine. (haven't tried Halo Reach, but since I haven't installed that game's update, it's not AP 2,5 yet - i think. it was working fine though)
3) logged into live, had no problems dling content. disconnected the cable once i was done and now keeping my fingers crossed while waiting for LT 2.0

anyone can remind me whats the tool that u input a number from your settings and it tells you if you've been flagged ?

Is it ok to use LT+ 1.1 on a Hitachi since it was ignored by the update?

Because they needed the AP2.5 etc capable drives to dominate there systems market space?
How much longer do you expect this generation to last lol!?

Ok let`s see.......... AP2.5...I was referring to the FW updates to the drive... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)  and how long do I expect this Gen to last ....=  If you read this thread fully you would has seen I feel it`s around Autumn of 2012 or to make that easy for you ...around 18 months or so.... I think this is not likely given Microsoft's past policy regarding updates. Most updates are released on Xbox LIVE, then follow on game discs down the road. This very likely has to do with SDK updates as well as keeping control of various bugs which might appear in the dashboards.

Sound feasible but MS stand will be changing 10 fold as tech changes ...so I would not but this past them and of course this would be and is great Anti-Piracy measure as previously stated....

Thanks for posting that info. Some slight clarification though, if you could..

- Your OSIG is an MS28, and that drive currently has CFW on it but you arent using it because it doesnt work for w/e reason. However you installed this drive in order to proceed with the system update and upon doing so, you received an E66 upon boot thereafter.
- After receiving this error you installed you spoofed Hitachi drive and proceeded with the update again. The update installed fine with your Hitachi drive and you have no issues playing backups.

Correct me if I misunderstood anything. Thanks again for taking the time to post some relevant data.

Program is called xVal

The hitachi thing makes sense as the new dash doesn't touch the drive and therefore skipped that part all together. Did you spoof it or just copy the drive key? If you spoofed as a samsung it is quite obvious MS knows it's been spoofed as it detected it as the hitachi and skipped the update process. However spoofing no longer causes errors so just curious as to if it was or not.

Seems 1.9 is back in progress.

LT+ v1.9 IN PROGRESS This version is for dashboard version 2.0.13146.0 – It will have no  XGD3 backup support but will be based on the latest firmware as updated  by the new dashboard update.

Is there a FAQ or something somewhere that can tell me if it's safe to use the Hitachi LT+ 1.1 firmware?

Hi, has anyone updated to the newest dash on a lite-on 93450c drive then reflashed to lt + 1.1?  If anyone has are you flagged for a ban and do all the games work online?  Please let me know because if you did I may give it a try also.  I figure If I get banned I can always sell my console as a banned console on craigslist and buy a used un-banned console pretty much at the same price.
