Failed Flash And No Dummy.bin What Are Options.
« on: March 16, 2011, 11:26:00 AM »

Hey

A friend of a friend was watching me flash a 360 the other day and he decided he wanted to do his. So hes jumped in head first not read the TUT's right and screwed it all up.

Basically he not grabbed his original key from the drive first, somethings gone wrong (Not really sure what) and now the xbox power light just blinks none stop and the drive doesnt respond (Wont open or close_)

The drive is a Liteon 74850c

Iv since took it off him and had a poke about inside jungleflasher. On the MTK Flash 32 tab if i click on Intro/Device ID it comes back with the following

Vendor ID 0x2A
Device ID 0x2A
Name Unknown Type
Size n/a
Type Serial flash with status 0x72

and sometimes

Vendor ID 0xEF
device ID 0x11
Name Winbond/NEX(W25P20/NX25p20)
Size 262144
Type serial flash with status 0x72

Then on the Drive properties it says

Vendor Drive in Vendor Mode

and the rest of the info is blank.

If i go onto the DVDKey 32 tab and try and grab the dummy it tells me theres no drive detected.

Im not a pro at flashing iv done about 6 or 7 in the last few years but im carefull enough to have never screwed one up and not daft enough to not get the Original key first. Iv already told him hes buggered and might as well get a new xbox but im hoping to be proven wrong.

Is it fixable or is it fit for the trash can.

EDIT - After reading up on Liteon drive i have noticed you need a CK3 kit. Now i know for a fact that lad that owns this xbox doesnt have one, nor do it. So is the key still retrievable if i probe it?? All he has used it the Liteon erase feature in Jungle flasher.

CK3 is not needed.

If you are getting status 72 then it sure sounds like drive is now erased and therefore key is lost forever. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I am looking to buy a jasper motherboard that has no dvd key. I can fix it by installing a differnt cpu that has a jtaggable cb. Any chance this is jasper?

Anyone else reading this in the USA or Canada that has a japer with no key please PM me.

just been looking for some info for myself and came across your thread.
I know it been a few weeks now.
and i guess ur using j/f here.

Did your mate read the the dvd drive for the key at all?
just thought if he had read the drive and he closed the prog or summit and then reopened and then erased  it etc.. and messed it up that way, if so j/f may have stored the key in the d/b.

just an idea anyway
