Jf And Vmware
« on: March 15, 2011, 12:27:00 PM »

I'm trying to run jungleflasher 0.1.79 (208) on XP SP3 inside vmware. Dotnet is installed but I get the following error: "All-in-One Flashing Utility for 360 Drives has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I'm using vmware because all my boxes are linux-only and the old p4 has a non-booting version of XP installed. I do all my flashing with dosflash 1.8 in dos, so JF is only for dvdkey injection.
For LT+1.1 93450c, at what offset is the dvdkey so that i could simply overwrite the bytes?
Or does JF's dvdkey injector do other things too?

just for info, vmware and other virtualization os software run all "virtual I/O drivers" for I/O on host machine.

If you want to work, JF needs to real access on I/O sata port , (with PORTIO32) but this is done only with real os!
...or do you want, to make you own virtual driver and then put your hardware sata port on virtual module loaded on VW. maybe is possible, but I very think don't lose  brain on this.

so Portio32 driver available and works on more os (See this)  but I think JF to work needs special version of this, coded by Schtrom running only on windowz, because on linux you need to compiling it from sources.

Quick answer for me  is: install xp on little partition (5gb) of your hd  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

bye!

It'd be probably less work to install XP on the p4 box than to create a vmware plugin to dummy-emulate the ports needed for jf to function.
