Hi I have two Xbox 360's, one is JTAGable and not banned.

The other is banned already.

The banned unit has a Benq drive spoofed as a MS28 drive. The JTAGable unit has a Benq drive as normal.

All i would like to do is use the banned unit to update the dashboard to purchase a Kinect, but I am not sure whether my hardware setup is any good.

i understand that the original samsung drive was not capable of AP2.5, and also that LT+ doesnt allow spoofing. So what can I do with my banned Xbox 360? Do i get a samsung drive off Ebay? Am I flogging a dead horse so to speak?

I have searched on here, but can't find a specific answer to my scenario.

Your pooped unless you do a NAND re-write of the box to "unban" it. Use search and you should be able to find many threads about "un-banning" a box.

Ah I forgot to say, I don't want to play online. I just want to be able to play Kinect games using the new dashboard (which I can download seperately).

I am happy to just play offline using Kinect on my banned Xbox.

The other JTAGable one I am assuming Kinect doesn't work with replacement dash (this is a massive assumption on my part).

jtags play kinect. you can not unbann the banned box.  you probably want to hire someone to jtag it for you, it isn't an easy thing to do.

This is slightly misunderstood OP.

Once you have one of the past few xbox dash updates on your xbox, the xbox stops checking to see if the drive matched and used to give e66 before they changed it.  Now it is true you can't spoof LT+, but if you have a higher dash version it dont matter.  Just put your key in the Benq firmware and flash LT+ to it.  It dont matter since you are banned, so you don't have to worry about being banned again because your drive doesn't match the original.

Its just suggested to use the original drive type that was in your console for XBOX live safety.  So if you ever replace a drive in a XBOX that will go on LIVE, replace it with the same model type.  Maybe the hack groups didn't make it clear, but if you have a different drive like your example, benq in place of samsung, the xbox will still work and play regular and burned backed up ap25 games even with a different drive flashed to LT+.  The spoof information does not matter if you are banned or never go on live, it will not affect the ability of the drive to play games.


In summary OP, just flash LT+ to the Benq and dont waste money buying another drive.

If it's already jtagged there's no need to jtag it up again to just UPDATE the nand to the latest dash.
dump your nand via Flash360 and grab the CPU Key and run it thur the latest freeboot builder tool / or freepigs GUI then toss the produced file onto the 360 as updflash.bin and fire up the unit and write it to the JTAG via Flash360 or Xellous and your done and ready to play kincent games off your JTAG.
