The HDD unlock key is different for every board, however changing drives dosn't change the code, unless you locked it with ConfigMagic 1.6, then the master password is TeamAssembly, otherwise, use LiveINFO to find out the PW.

And if it's same Version of xbox you can use configmagic to flash the onboard eeprom with it... if not look here...

This will only work if you used Evox or Config Magic to lock the drive

1 Insert 1 empty floppy disc into your floppy station
2 Open My Computer
3 Right click Floppy drive
4 Choose Format,
5 Choose Make MS boot disc

6 Remove all HD's from your Computer
7 Make Floppy first boot
8 Boot the floppy and start atapwd.exe
(you might get an HD error but ignore this Press F1 to resume)

9 refresh the atapwd hd list
10 choose the Xbox HD
11 Press Enter 1 time to get up menu
12 Press Enter once more to enter Security menu
13 Choose "UNLOCK WITH MASTER PASSWORD"
14 Type "TEAMASSEMBLY" without " ofcourse
now if you look far out on the left is should be a - under the L where it before was a ?

15 Press Enter 1 time to get up menu
16 Press Enter once more to enter Security menu
17 Choose "DISABLE WITH MASTER PASSWORD"
18 Type "TEAMASSEMBLY" again without the " ofcourse
Your HD should be unlocked and ready for use...

EDIT : Some use  "XBOXSCENE" without " ofcourse, so if TEAMASSEMBLY does not work, try replace it with XBOXSCENE

v1.0 fit on v1.0
v1.1-1.4 fit on v1.1-1.4
v1.5 i dont know
v1.6 fit on v1.6

so if the box are not withing eachothers group you cannot use the eeprom.bin backupfile....

you could do a backup of yours, and flash yours if it fits better there... but remeber to unlock drive first... :-D

then reflash yours with you eeprom.bin when hd is unlocked and ready...
and COPY backup of yours to a safespot.... and dont touch it... make sure you do same with his... so you dont mix them up

lucky i would call that...

then if you can just chip the new one....
And follow the guid.. and just lock it when in the "new" xbox.. no need for the eeprom...

if you do have a backup of it... and want to use it for ie.. live playing...

copy the BACKUP folder of the drive, make a new backup to get a backup of the new eeprom.... then move this to another folder on pc, copy the backup to configmagic folder ... and UNLOCK drive if u locked it......  Then flash the eeprom with the bin file.... lock the drive and start playing........

and the new backup eeprom.bin... you sell for 10$ or give to me : unsure.gif

In worst case... you can always desolder the eeprom chip from old box and move it to the new box...
