Yes, he's probably just flashed a BenQ and is using it instead of a Liteon, seeing as the dash doesn't care what drive is installed now.

This was my situation:

I originally had a liteon in the Xbox, but it died, so I bought a BenQ to replace it, as I much preferred them.

When flashing the new BenQ in JF back when original LT fw was released, it stated It was spoofing it as a liteon.

Since Kinect came out, I have updated to the latest dashboard.  I used the older version of jungleflasher to update FW to LT+, it was still stating it was spoofing.

Now, do you mean in your post that my BenQ has now become my OSIG as that was in my Xbox before updating to latest dashboard and that is why it is working?  If so, then it doesn't matter, does it?  As people will still be able to play the ap2.5 games. Although doubtful if you would be live safe.

All I know is that it is a totally different drive in my Xbox from the original and it works...

If I had known that the original LT was going to transform my first-gen Lite-On into a pain in the ass, then I never would've upgraded past iX 1.6.

As every tutorial sais, SAVE the original firmware, or at least the key.

To blame LT is easy, but you should blame yourself for not saving key/OFW

Just a quick condition query:

Condition: Booting (successfully) an AP25 title on an iXtreme LT drive that has no awareness of AP25 (ie every firmware before today) on any dash before the most recent (ie the last dashboard before the gui revamp).

Would this result in any ban worthy information being stored in the NAND? The 360 has been offline since before the update of course. XVal reports that the Secdata is Clean so I indeed assume there has been no flagging?

So just patching a game to AP25 won't make it work in iX 1.6 right?

I am in much the same situation, only I started with a Hitachi drive, had a BenQ in my 360 when i updated to the latest dash (had it in there before the original NXE update actually) and am now wondering if I will be flagged if I update to LT+ and continue to use my spoofed BenQ drive.

Can you confirm that your XVal is still clean and you are able to play on live (even just access it) with an AP2.5 game? That being Fable3, AC:Brotherhood, or NFS Hot Pursuit.

I don't get why Microsoft suddenly care about whether or not people have changed their drive. They were the ones replacing drives with totally different models themselves, so what the...

MS can change OSIG after replacement, which makes it a legit repair.

since 1000s of lite-ons were replaced with either samsungs or benqs in the beginning when there was no hacked firmware available for lite-on, i can imagine that MS might add this check.

Also, since samsung and old hitachi has no ap2.5, checking for osig is handy to prevent ppl from replacing lite-on drives for samsung (in case a fix for ap2.5 never was found by C4 or others)

Hi, my xvals were clean before connecting to live.  Connected to live with no problems while loading up NFS:HP, signed into the EA servers and all seems good!  After coming off live, my xvals are still clean! biggrin.gif

So to clarify:

Spoofed BenQ to be LiteOn
Updated to latest dashboard before modifying drive to LT+
Running AP2.5 games on live with no issues (Also downloaded a title update for NFS:HP with no problem)
Xval's clean before and after

I have a Samsung that doesn't boot AP2.5 games, so I'm wondering: is there any plan to release LT+ for Samsung too?

do you have the current LT v1.0 on your Samsung drive?

if not, update to that and try again.

p.s. i got a Samsung system (with LT v1.0) and AP25 games like Need 4 Speed: Hot Pursuit work perfectly fine on newest dashboard.

i dont see why not wink.gif

i prefer dosflash myself for flashing drives. just prepare your firmware file with Jungle Flasher and then use dosflash to flash the drive.

So what is the best way to rip games now?

I previously used 0800 mode in 1.6 but since now I have to upgrade I need to find a replacement.

currently... nothing.

there is nothing publicly released that can rip AP25 games that work on LT+.

so basically the only 3 AP25 games out right now can all be patched to work with abgx360 v1.0.4 on LT+ firmware.
