As I said I'm doing this on an already banned xbox and am not going to risk it on my live one even though I'm sure I would be ok. Just wanted to confirm why it was working....I thought the update on the disc was different and I mentioned this in another post but a Mod told me all kinect updates were the same.

I'm guessing everyone with modified firmware is offline at the moment and on the old dashboard waiting for LT+ so unable to play ANY ap 2.5 games. Updating from the disc would allow them to play ap2.5 games without being flagged until LT+ came out....again though I must stress I am using a banned xbox so there is no consequence for me....I would only really recommend this for an already banned xbox just incase.

Also there might be different kinect dashboards on different discs. Kinect Adventures might have an earlier version and AC BH a later version. AC BH might look to see if you have a kinect dashboard already installed and if you have NO UPDATE even though it is a different release version. Hoever if you have no kinect dashboard at all FORCED UPDATE to newest Kinect dsahboard with ap2.5. Again most of this is guess work but could be possible.

Doing a quick search on Google and dashboard 2.0.12416.0 came out to be the beta dashboard of kinect

tried this on a 12416 dash, updated from a usb stick. I tried a kreon rip of a legally owned nfs hot pursuit game to see if it would work, disc unreadable error and xval shows ap25 flag.

oh well. just thought I'd let you guys know before anyone else tried it, maybe the one on the disc is different to the one i had.

Some how it looks like the ap2.5 checks don't seem to be occuring! Why?!?! Is the update on the disc different to the one downloaded from live? I will be glad to provide any other info if required!....I can't belive Im actually sat here playing a backup of AC BH....I'm so happy!

I've got a red resident evil elite that was banned in Nov 2009 also, it has a 74850c Liteon with LT1.1. Updated my dash using Kinect Adventures so its on 2.0.12416.0 also. Kinect Sports didnt ask to do an update, Fable 3 works but running it through abgx it doesnt show as an AP25 game anyway. NFS & ACB both fail AP25 checks, start to load then quit back to the dash with a unreadable disc error.

Americanv8 has your console got a hard drive installed or just internal memory on the motherboard? Ive seen another post somewhere stating they were able to play Fable 3 fine and their update was onto the internalmemory. As soon as they introduced a hard drive/memory card it stopped working. I'll try and find the post and link to it.

It also mentions that ACBH might have a newer version of the dashboard...however as I stated I wasn't forced to update. This person though did their 2nd update with ACBH and I did mine with Kinnect Sports. Perhaps the update on Kinect Sports is slighly different to ACBH but prevents ACBH from forcing an update maybe? I'll stick the burnt dvds of ACBH and Kinect Sports through abxg and see what it says.

If you update from Kinect Adventure and then Kinect Animals, then use the AC:B dvd to update the 360 it seems the last update overlooks the 2.5 check or forgets to enable it.

Its been said so on 360iso forums for the past day or two and accepted as a workaround until lt+ comes out.

Perhaps it is similar with Kinect Sports update being used after Kinect Adventure.

Edit: this is not for jtag, just for flashed firmware it is also required to begin with dash version 9199 to be able get the required kinect updates.

Well, I tried it and it didn't work out.

Did the 12416 beta update with the hard drive detached, upon boot it told me it needed an additional 190MB to finish installing, skipped that. Previously backed up games play fine. ACB did not ask for an update, but AP25 failed (disc unreadable, reflected in Xval).

My v1 Xenon was stuck on a System Update Stopped loop.

Kinect Beta Dashboard (2.0.12416.0) on USB Stick successfully updated.

ACB on MS28 iXtreme 1.5 with Activate DVD works just fine. Did not prompt to update.


Update: Only worked in with Offline Profile, no HDD just a Memory Unit.
Installed to HDD with Banned XboxLive Account Profile and it prompts to do update. From other posts and italian scene, Sports Update must be applied after beta in order to bypas AP 2.5 prompt.
