I can verify that Fable 3, NFS Hot pursuit and Assasins Creed brotherhood all work fine on my 74850c Xbox with Kinnect dashboard and LT 1.0 firmware....but the thing is it shouldn't! I should be getting dirty error messages!!!

I will provide as much details as possible and hopefully someone can work this out!

1) it is a 74850c xbox that was banned in the last wave of November 2009. Since then obviously it has not been online and I have just been using it as a media extender.

2) It has no hard drive installed. All it has is the 256mb internal memory.

3) I bought a kinect on the day of release and updated to the kinect dashboard using the update included with Kinect Adventures.

4) A further update was required when I loaded Kinect Sports.

5) The xbox reports the dashboard version as 2.0.12416.0

6) fable 3 is a copy from an original retail disc using 0800 firmware on a Benq and backed up using the latest copy of Schtrom. It loaded fine without any request for updates

7) Assasins creed and NFS have both loaded fine neither asked for an update to be applied. They were also baked up from originals using 0800 method.

Some how it looks like the ap2.5 checks don't seem to be occuring! Why?!?! Is the update on the disc different to the one downloaded from live? I will be glad to provide any other info if required!....I can't belive Im actually sat here playing a backup of AC BH....I'm so happy!

What motherboard version is it?
What is Date of Manufacture?

Date of Manufacture is 24th April 2009...not sure of the top of my head what motherboard it is.......just looked on the xbox 360 drive database as I didn't want to open my xbox again...looks like its a Jasper.

Just another point to add I'm in the UK so these are the European versions of the games if that makes any difference...I doubt it does!

yeah you should have a jasper and lite on v7, and all info we know says it shouldnt work

Yeah I'm happy it does too   I'm still not going to update my other 'Live' unbanned xbox to the new kinnect dashboard just in case. I didn't come on the forum to gloat even though I'm over joyed! I thought I'd post it incase someone can work out WHY it is working and perhaps help others play backups of AP 2.5 games whilst we wait for LT+

So it looks like if you update via Disc to the new Kinect dashboard instead of via Xbox Live you can play ap 2.5 games fine!!! Can anyone else whos updated just via disc confirm this? If so this could help alot of people play ap 2.5 games until the new LT+ firmware comes out.

That's the way I'm reading it, but I doubt it would work for everyone.

This makes a lot of sense as the dash your are on has been about for a while, yet people didnt report problems with fable 3 etc on it at the time. It would be good to find other box's on that dash to confirm. Sit tight and dont update

Exactly...wasn't this know about 3 weeks ago?  Just using Kinetic update is OK but full update from Live activates AP2.5.
