always good to see these updates...
so basically the current 0800 fw and xbc can't fully dump ap2.5 games properly ?

then a new 0800 and xbc will be made ?
just need someone to confirm this....if possible.
thanks.

Yes read about it in one of the (C4Eva) threads, I posted that almost a month ago(and a couple of times since) ... Sammys and Hitachis will not likely be usable as 0800 anymore either (But you never know C4eva is a bit of a wiz, but I doubt it's possible)

Will I be able to patch new 2.5 games with ppf-o-matic somehow with this new change? I bought my modded 360 from someone online who isn't active anymore in the scene. I don't care if I'm flag for ban online but would love to play the newest releases

Yes, we will be able to patch ssv3 onto our backups. Maybe not with ppf-o-matic but probably a new version of ABGx or something similar.

I am sure lots of people will be happy to hear that.

So you are back tracking on the statment you have made many times that if your banned ap2.5 games will never work again?

On fat boxes why would it be any different from any other upgrade?...it's just firmware after all.

Load LT+ as target, OFW/Dummy/Key from DB as source, power cycle drive, write.

Happy about what? To me, C4eva didn't say an xbox already flagged (for ban) by trying to play an AP2.5 backup, will have the flag removed. If someone has tried an AP2.5 backup on the new dash, there's nothing C4eva can do to revert a possible flag (for ban), as far as I know.

feidhlim1986: I think basically this just means you will be able to play the games, the ban flag would remain (dvd firmware isnt going to help you on that). If you have a backup of your nand before the ban flag was placed you could always reflash (but it has to be on the same dash version your currently using etc).

As for the comment about the slims etc, id suspect that LT+ will be easier for the older style box's first as the drives in the slim have more check's so it will be more work to write the firmware to work around that than it will be to just simply deal with the AP2.5 checks on the older drives. More work means more time till release.

That's not easy to do when people like your friend steveo lock previous threads (e.g. 'c4eva 4th update')! Jeez.  He just locked it because someone owned him regarding the backup-talk rules.
A mod needs to quickly explain why this information exists in the rules.  If it is no longer true/valid it needs to be removed ASAP, imo.  You are just confusing people.

Its funny people only see things the way they wanna see them. If you read that rule carefully it states you can say you took a certain backup on live but it does not say you can ask if it is safe to play backups on live.

Example of what the rule allows: I got banned from live I played backups on live but I have my lite-on flashed with ixtreme LT and I dumped my game using the 0800 firmware and verified using abgx.

Example of what the rule does not allow: If I have the LT+ firmware can I play on live?

I thought the idea behind LT+ was for slims. I think he should forget about the thousands of users with old xbox's and concentrate on the minority of us with slims lol

Am only joking, the guy is a genius. He said on irc that it would be here for christmas and he has obviously stated that it wont be long for fats. But perhaps someone could ask him to clarify if slim will be here before christmas.

I appreciate that these things take time, and I am patient. But perhaps just a little insight. :-)

I wonder if C4eva can release a new xtreme firmware which runs any backup (including SL ones) and includes a built in 0800 mode (IIRC lt+ removed this)? Would make things easier for us banned users.

Hi,
My console was flashed to LT by another guy and I received from him 3 files:
- Lite-OFW.bin
- Lite_CFW.bin
- Key.bin
So I would need to open as a soource firmware my Lite-OFW.bin file?
Is any hardware needed apart Via SATA controller and SATA cable?
What does that mean "from DB as source"? My console was flashed originally not from my PC.. so I have no DB. Am I OK?

I know this is a bit offtopic. Just make a quick answer smile.gif Thanks.

Yep that's fine, just giving you 3 ways of getting your old key.  No extra hardware needed apart from something to actually power the drive, I use an old RROD xbox but others use a proper Xecuter etc.
