No, the best way to do it would be to use 0800 firmware, not Kreon.
Kreon only rips SSv1, 0800 firmware rips SSv2.

If you're using a Kreon drive then you should definitely run any rips though ABGX360 to update it to SSv2.

When SSv3 is used, a new 0800 firmware release will be needed to properly rip it from games.

Hope this clears that up for you.

Then what does c4e mean by this?

[2010-11-18 08:29PM] <c4eva> *******:use kreon to dump game data only

To me it sounds like as long as you dump just the game data you can run it through abgx and it will be able to patch the files needed to make it SSv3. This would be good as i do not have a 2nd xbox drive to use with the 0800 firmware!

Ripping with a Kreon and then injecting SSv3 will be fine as far as I understand it.

Assuming that Secreast, Dudeygeeza and friends start ripping ssv3 en masse then yes.

I would still recommend just getting a second drive and installing 0800 on it over a Kreon though, especially when you can get them so cheaply. I bought a Benq from an Ebay Powerseller for $8 inc delivery sold as faulty and all it needed was a quick cleanup of the belt and now it makes for the perfect ripping drive.

Means that fat xboxes will get LT+ in the first place (less than a month remaining) and then later the slims.

That's how I fixed it actually, only I boiled some hot water in a tea kettle, poured it into a cup and placed the belt in there for a minute or so. Worked perfectly. smile.gif

To be honest, if you have a dedicated 0800 then you don't really have any use for the Kreon anymore.

Just wait....simple!
When a new firmware comes out it will specify if it is for slims or not.
If it is not for slims, then you'll just have to wait longer.

Is that official enough for ya?

Commodore himself said later, not sure how much more official you would want it to be.

The slim drive is not the number 1 priority anymore. It was a couple of months ago but it is going to need to wait now. Shouldn't be too long though as Xecuter are no doubt screaming to get their paws into that market.

ROFL.  I'm sure he'll get right onto this tonight for you.

Wow, I wonder if something's possible and people take it as a demand.

I was just asking because it's something handy, particularly for people like me who only have the one DVD drive capable of ripping it (the 360 drive itself). Since with AP2.5 I will be forced to upgrade now (up until now I have used Ixtreme 1.6 and patched my games since being banned).

Plus being able to boot without certain restrictions is useful, especially since I have no care for stealth firmware as long as the games boot.

I know this guy owes us nothing.

What is there to clear up?  Who's "more official?"

Let's see - there's how many more millions of "fat" consoles out there compared to the newer "slim" models?!  Wouldn't it make sense to focus on those that are most affected and higher in number?!  Not only that, since they're still working on hacking the slim consoles (building on what they already know), shouldn't that be enough info, in and of itself, to confirm that it's gonna be a while?!

Did you even bother to look through any of the other threads in the forum?

There's nothing wrong with asking questions - no matter how basic they might seem to someone else.  However, there's a lot of things wrong with not making even a half-assed effort to find the answer on your own before asking someone else to do the work for you.

The "Search" button is your friend.  And so it Google - or Bing - whatever you prefer.
