Ap25 Reversal?
« on: November 14, 2010, 03:57:00 AM »

hey guys i have a question, i have 2 xbox's both offline

one was updated to the new dash then taken back offline and unfortunately for me i put fable 3 in and it had the read error, ran that check program and it now says i have failed the ap25 check.

i take it this means im flagged to be banned, however i have not taken it online since before putting in fable 3.
so the flag is basically telling me once i go online it will post my fail to microsoft and add me to the ban forever.

what im wanting to know is there a way to remove this flag from the xbox (offline) and have it go back to the clean state so i can take it back online???
it also corrupted my profile..
which now on the second xbox i have the old dashboard and fable 3 runs fine, however i cannot use my profile as i have to recover it from xbox live... but i cant go on live due to the whole (ill get banned) and on the box that has the old dashboard i cant even go on live as it wants me to update and if i dont update then i cant do anything to do with live so im stuck atm... unless i can somehow go onlive without updateing on box2 or get rid of the failed ap25 check on box1

make sence??? it will to someone who knows what im talking about. so i just need the answers i want! lol
which is the direction to a guide/tut on removing the flag and a way of recovering my gamertag without updating the dashboard!

without dumping the nand before you tried fable 3 then no..there may be some unflagger in the future but as of now no.

and the only thing that doesnt make sense is why oh why you and everyone else keeps attempting to boot fable 3 and then posting ooo i'm flagged for banning what can i do.

Your profile is corrupted because your box is actually already banned. The new dashboard doesn't need to connect to live in order to ban. So you may be out of luck if you don't have a backup of your nand. The only other thing I would recommend is trying the un-cripple method in this thread:

When he says old, he means the non-slim models.

I hope that the flag can be removed from the nand. I did try to read the nand and use xnandhealer to fix the flag. It didnt find the flag  sad.gif

No

if you dump the nand, and after that you're flagged, then you can reflash your dumped nand back to the xbox to effectively 'clear' the flag... this assumes you haven't been online where no doubt MS would have received the flag and any nand flashing would most likely be rendered useless.

Its a fair bit of work (time consuming) but if it hasnt been online since you failed the check the process is as follows (shortened down)

disassemble
solder wires for dumping nand
dump nand
clear sec data (perhaps there is other places it changes too i do not know perhaps someone else does?)
reflash back to xbox

test and if all is good then done.

Might be worthwhile soldering a WP on the nand too just incase this happens in future will save you extra work.
