Nice work. People shouldn't hate even if they are looking forward to something else (ie LT+).

Agreed that it's a nice accomplishment. But you have to admit it's pretty worthless.

Considering it's a modchip that requires soldering, and all the extra hassle with swapping, you may as well just get a second console-only banned 360 to play backups on for LAN parties. And with the inevitable ban-wave coming, those are likely to become cheaper than whatever the modchip will cost.

Someone is a little full of themselves...cutting down 3 different posters coments like that.  Very classy of you Aniled.

I think it's a cool idea and pretty innovative in the application that would it would be most useful...system link/lan  Clearly the dev of this little mod thinks so too, and plainly states that in the article.  Running up a LIVE game and ejecting the disc is a stupid idea and you would risk a banning.

So, I do belive it's a cool idea regardless of Microsoft doing additional checks and banning people.

Dj.

Full of myself?  Maybe... but with posts like those, it's just too easy.

Anyway, sure, cool idea... definitely not unique... definitely not stealth.

This chip is going to be an epic fail. Cant do anything the banned boxes in my closet cant do. Would be cool if it was $10 bucks or something, but I have a feeling that will not be the case.

All my trust is in C4eva to get us out of yet another bind. If you read this buddy you got your lunch paid for whenever your in the Indianapolis area, we all owe you one.

This is perfect fot Lan Parties, Gaming Cafes for the disk swap feature but the AP2.5 is a bit of a ghetto fail..it works but fails at the same time. Seeing another drive chip takes me back to the first FW chips for the 360 like the old NME360 chip or the Xeno360.

I agree this has little to do with AP2.5(and I'm not sure how this would even help- the question to C4eva was prolly retrospective eg; can I still use my disc-swap-boot w/AP2.5) and the fact you need an original(to boot with) is kinda self-defeating. Otherwise we could all just install games as GOD's and run a normal backup as a dummy.

It would have it's uses, but I really wouldn't install this for anyone without seeing the schematic (as it may damage the 3v line that senses tray status- assuming that's how it works)

He should release it to the communtiy(so we might be able to add to,build it etc..) , as the LAN party mob (assuming they're up for soldering but not up for FW) will buy it from him anyway. If we knew more about AP2.5 we might be able to design a decent mod-chip ......

He's the typical spectator you see lurking around who only opens their mouth to criticize, otherwise known as a troll. If you ignore them they usually go away.

I can't imagine there's much going on here probably a PIC which solders to the sync button from the DVD eject control wire. All it needs is for one person to buy it and read the data from the PIC and we have a free solution.

As for usage, danthaman673 has it spot on - it *is* self defeating as if you need an original to load it (and you should have the original of the required game anyway), there's no need to fit this mod in the first place.
