I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread on this. I have a hacked 360 drive with Benq LT (latest). I want to buy Kinect, but I don't want to have to a buy a whole new 360.

Can we assume that it is safe to play retail discs on our hacked 360s without being banned? A lot of people are saying that MS cannnot detect LT firmware and has therefor gone to checks within the discs, so I feel like if we are pure and only use retail games we don't need to reflash or get a new 360.

Make no assumptions my friend, in the past M$ has been able to detect older FW on the drive. This is why we went from xtreme FW to ixtreme fw. Don't make any assumptions that M$ cannot detect the fw.

We can make threads all day long about i was able to update and I'm fine, but there is no telling when M$ will pull the leaver and ban every console that has been detected.

Bottom line here is if you flashed your drive you excepted the risk of being banned.
