New Protections Added to Leaked 12606 and Fall2010 Dashboard?
« Reply #360 on: November 14, 2010, 02:40:00 AM »

I have no idea as I have not updated in any way or manor. So annoying as I have an unmodded 360, a new Kinnect and 5 games all sitting boxed and waiting to play, but I cant because I cant update my system sad.gif  Am also going to buy Assassins Creed Brotherhood when it comes out next friday (am a big fan), but will be unable to play that as well if what I have been reading on other forums is true, that the game has the dash update on the disc  sad.gif  Hopefully a fix or new firmware will come out soon  smile.gif

For the little use my modded console actually gets, I am starting to wonder if it is really worth the hassle. The kids would miss it if we didn't have it though. There is no way I would ever let them loose with original game disks! They destroy discs on a weekly basis by either scratching them or getting them covered in Jam, sticky sweets etc  laugh.gif

@cederpoint2.

On November the 3th you said this:

"If you use the same HDD on both boxes, once you update the Non-mod box to the new Kinect dash, the system update folder will be stored on your hdd and it will attempt to update your modified box to the new dash the next time you use it. If you update it and it is flagged, it will be banned (even if offline) and you will no longer be able to transfer your profile from your modded one to your non-modded one. No more profile sharing between boxes!"

Couple of Questions...

1. Are you saying the HDD will now store a system update folder and try to force you to update any other boxes that you plug it into with an earlier dash to the latest dash? For example, the Kinect dash?

2. My thinking was that the HDD does not contain a system update folder or any folders of that type. The only way that a 360 dash could be updated was by a game disc/demo disc with latest dash on it, an internet connection,  or downloading it with a PC and installing it with a flashdrive etc.

Here's what I am trying to understand. For those of use who run two consoles and switch our HDD/profile between them (one console modded on an older dash, offline. One console unmodded, new dash, online) Using a DVD drive that will do the AP2.5 check (Benq, Lite-on etc.) with the likes of Fable 3. My only concern was that the back up of the game would not run on the modded console because I was not prepared to update the dash when it asks. (which if I did would then cause my modded console to be flagged when it tried to boot the game). So would wait on a work around like replacing the system update folder with an older one inside the ISO for use on the modded console. and using the original on the unmodded console. With what you are saying it would mean someone in my position would need to find a fix for the system update on the disc. (1 time fix) then every time I remove my HDD from my unmodded box I would need to wire it up to the PC and replace the system update folder that is there now, is this right.

(I have not been keeping up to date with everything that's going on recently and I might be confusing stuff that already has answers, but I have been doing a fair bit of reading on the forums and can't put all the pieces together.)

Any chance you could give me as concise an answer as you did the other day with Madboxer.

Cheers!

Hi..i was going to patch my NFS Hot Pursuit ISO to wave 3, when 360wavespatcher returned an error about an unknown wave.

After that i started reading about the new AP2.5 but theres one thing i dont know. I dont have the kinect dashboard, can i run the games patched for wave3(i have a lite-on with 1.51 or 1.6 dont really remember)? Or all the new games force me to install the new dashboard?

Thanks in advance
