I hope this all turns out to be just a rumor and nothing more. After reading all the comment here and elsewhere I am not sure what to believe. I have been think about it quit abit and the only thing I can think of is the firmware ytou have on your dvd drive. Why I say this is a week or so again c4eva & TJ said that they wil be releasing LT+ with firmguard to overcome new checks. I know they said this is only for the slim but what does that mean.

Does it mean that the firmware it only for the slim or is the new checks only performed on the slim. They also said the LT for both liteon and benq and still fine, I know they know better than anyone but if this news is true then is it possible that these new check C4eva and TJ know about are now being use on all console.

I am really keen to know what is going on and hope that this new firmware for the slim comes out soon after the update which will allow us to play our backups again on the latest dashboard.

So to get this straight, People that are IN the program could boot a copy (not the original) just fine, and people with the leaked version couldnt?

Perhaps it´s just a bug in the leaked version, i read somewhere about missing avatar items or so.

But the best thing we could do it just to chill out, and forget about this until the new dashboard is actually out so some poor people will update and post results.

I myself arent worried about not being able to use Live, since i dont use it anymore, im worried for a diffrent reason.

 Right but LIVE is only gone for you until the official release of the new Dashboard...you do not get banned from LIVE you just can't connect until the new dash is released to everyone on LIVE....I know this because i downloaded the "leaked" 12387 or whatever it was, then signed up for the beta when it was announced and when they started the Beta program it let me update and get back on LIVE with it....when the NXE came out the same thing happened you couldn't get on LIVE until the official release. My point was that having a leaked VS official Beta dash because you are on the list has nothing to do with whether the game will run or not.

 I am also going to add to the confirmation...this also has problems on my XDK, resigning it like i do all my retail games it throws a dirty disc error if i run it over ethernet and black screens with an exception (XbWatson) off the HDD. I am trying it as a GOD now..... My guess since it throws an exception is that the check is in the game Xex itself not the dashboard, because so far this is the only game doing that.

 Has anyone been having problems on Jtag modded systems or retail systems with 9199? This would be able to prove or disprove whether it is in the Dash or game Xex...I can lower my flash and check if it does the same thing i guess but i wasn't really in the mood to run a recovery today.

Afaik, the only people with problems are those with the leaked dashboard.
9199 works fine for people, or atleast that´s what i´ve been reading.

Omg why cant people just understand, this isnt going to work on the new dashboard.
I'm in the testing program, and the game wont BOOT! And people who bought the game and are in the testing program can play the game fine. Hmmmm strange isnt it? So yes it has to do with the dashboard, and people will also not be able to play when the new dashboard is being rolled out to everybody.

Nope. It works for some people and others get the "This disc is unreadable error", and that's whether they are in the official beta or whether they're using a leaked version of the beta dash.

I've read tons of posts about it and there doesn't seem to be anything that stands out as the reason for the game not working. There has to be a reason though obviously, so hopefully someone will figure this out.

Only Fable 3 at the moment, and not for everyone. What you posted in that other thread just isn't happening - MS are not somehow flashing consoles back to stock firmware. Posting things like that isn't helping anyone simply because it's just not true, but at the same time, there are people on here who seem like they don't want to accept that this Fable 3 issue is happening, despite all the evidence that shows it is.

Works fine on my Jtagged box(9199 dash). Extracted the game to usb drive, deleted $systemupdate folder and no probs running it.

the thing with black ops is treyarch are using a server to detect modded discs not backups and rapid fire chips i for one am all for that

got update for dash this morning (proper beta program) original fable 3 works fine, the crap copy of fable 3 doing the rounds  will not boot. i made an 0800 copy and it worked fine although it did chuck me out back to dash with could not read disc after 15 mins but i think my laser is on its way out anyway as split second and mw2 do the same after half an hour and they are originals

the 15 min loading or whatever you get is symptoms others were describing with backup copies of Fable 3 so I don't think thats an issue with your laser

Try other games they probably won't experience that issue
