How Safe Is Lt On A Sammy?
« on: July 14, 2010, 08:43:00 PM »

Last night I finally decided to bite the bullet and flash my Sammy in my old Xenon 360 with whatever the latest LT is for a Sammy drive. All is working great, and I am currently enjoying a bit of Saints Row 2.

I'm just wondering, just how safe is it? I make sure all of my backups are stealth patched with abgx360, and all come back as passed and verified, but I am just curious. Obviously it is never going to be 100% certain that the ban hammer won't come down on you, but is it really all that safe?

I have also just read the other post on here regarding the new dash update coming for Natal. It supposedly flags your console even offline. Are we all screwed? Are there any extra measures to take? Is this the end of the road for backups on Live?

Without a doubt once you mod your console you WILL get banned. It is only a matter of time. As for how safe is LT? Nobody will know until the next ban wave and that wont likely be until this fall.

I have a spare BenQ drive laying around, so would it be worth writing the Sammy key to it to play only originals?

Ah thats great to know  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . What LT is on your Sammy, and what do you use to stealth patch.

Also, what are your thoughts in regard to this new dash update? Do you think that it will be the end for us?

Lol, didn't know that! I wonder what he meant then...

Also a few more questions, when a new version of LT comes out for the Sammy, how do I update it?
And if I am ripping my own games, so I need to worry about SS or SSv2?

To update to a newer version of LT, you should flash back to stock, dl any systems updates if you need to, and then flash back to LT. If you rip your own games, doesn't matter what drive you use(Kreon or 0800), I would still run games through ABGX just to be safe

Of course everything is fine and going good, there has been no ban wave. Microsoft won't ban individuals, hence the word "wave". They ban about twice a year and they do millions at a time. Don't fool yourself into thinking you safe. You will eventually get banned. They soon you accept that, the easier your decisions are. Start saving for your next arcade now already!

Thanks for the info  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). To flash back to Stock, would I (in JF) just do what I did to flash it the first time, except select my original firmware as the target?

Also, I actually rip all my games using the hot-swapping method. I have run all of my backups through ABGX, and all have come out as fine. Was just wondering is I needed to inject SS or SSv2 as some have suggested.

One last thing, you say when I flash to stock, it is safe to download updates? So does that mean that M$ can't see we had flashed firmware at all? I know it is called stock because it s the original, but does it actually make it safe again? If so, flashing takes like a whole of 2 mins, so I might just flash to stock, then flash it each time I want to play a backup, and back to stock when I'm done.

Sorry for all of the questions, I'm a complete noob to all of this, and really need some help.

Just connected to Live for the first time in a while, and half of my games need to be updated to play online.

How do I flash it back to stock? Remember I am a noob, this is my first flash, and I will need really detailed explanations.
