As the title suggests, I'm having an issue using the latest versions of JungleFlasher that are Windows 7 64-bit compatible. With Lite On 7xxx drives, I can get a successful dump from them, but then once I do the erase and try to set the drive into vendor mode, my PC will start freezing up on me... as in it will freeze for about 5 seconds, then work for about 2, freeze, work, freeze, etc... until I turn the drive off.
With BenQ drives, pretty much the same deal, but so far I've been able to at least dump the firmwares, and in one case I was actually able to flash the drive too without any issue, but half the time my computer starts freezing by the time I get to the point of flashing the drive.
I'm using a via 6421 chipset PCI sata card, with the Via 5.80G drivers. I've used the patchguard method to allow me to use an unsigned version of portio64.sys and I run JF as administrator so it'll actually work with the portio64.sys file.
One thing I recall about how I set things up on my Windows XP partition is that the default Via drivers would cause the system to lock up with working with Lite On drives because the drivers would do "polling" to the drive, so I had followed the instructions to install Uniata drivers in place of the Via ones, but unfortunately I could not find any 64-bit versions of that driver, so I'm pretty sure that solution is out (and I already tried tinkering around to see if I could still somehow getting the 32-bit driver to work, but as I'm sure you guys know, that didn't work out at all).
Anyone have any suggestions on this matter, or do I have to stick to booting into Windows XP to flash drives?
