Once you have LT on your drive, all dumping ways are closed, except for the cut trace and resistor power-trick called the MRA way.

You either have  to make sure you had your backup saved with the correct key, and just erase the drive and flash directly using your backup saved key.

Or do some search and learning of the MRA way which was originally designed for the newest LiteOn drives (v3) to dump them.

But thanks to the protection of LT, we now have to always use the MRA way to re-dump the drive, unless you are smart and have safely filed away your backup with your key info from your first flash of your Liteon.

Would i need to update my lite-on to Lt v1.1 even if i am not have disc error problem??

Just dump the key again and spoof the key into the new firmware. Just pretend it is like the first time. You shouldn't have any issues.

I can't just dump the key again without going the MRA route and thats what i want to avoid as i have no soldier experience.

Can i not use the dummy i obtained when i first flashed it with 1.51 and use that to upgrade a liteon LT to LT 1.1?? or do HAVE TO of saved again after upgrading to LT??

Does anyone know the answer to this for sure???

Because if i get it wrong the drive is gone for good.

I'd be quite intested in this too. When I got my v93 Lite-on drive flashed, I asked the guy to give me the drive key in a text file, so I could eventually make the upgrades myself. But I didn't realize that other files were involved too, like dummy.bin and so on. So I'd really like to know if I can upgrade my drive by just having the key, and nothing else, or if I'm good to make a new extraction of the whole firmware.

Thanks!

hi there people first post so go easy.

my question is , i have iextreme lt 1.0 installed on my lite on 74850c and when this was installed it was the first time the drive was flashed. now after flashing this firmware i got files dummy.bin,inquiry.bin,key.bin,serial.bin,identify.bin,jf log,lite\-cfw
(i paid a shop for installation as i did not fancy dumping method needed for my lite-on)

now in previouse posts they say i dont have to dump the firmware to get required files. i can use the files above, now i have flashed before years ago using mkvflash and it was a sammy so i have required via pci card.

now heres the thing one previous post says load the dummy file up and patch to new lt firmware and one post makes out you load lt_cfw and patch to new firmware.

so my question is which one should i use is it dummy or lt_cfw.

many thanks in advance.

p.s whats the best connectivity kit to use as i believe its not best to use 360 power supply as it logs no connection of drive.many thanks

You can use old files for source fw in JF.

LiteOn isnt at risk - so no need to update unless you are having issues!

hi there sorry to be a pain guys but i get this output from jungle flasher when i load dummy.bin (dumped from original lite-on firmware before flash to lt 1.0) and loading new 1.1 to target firmware. am i ok to procced.

Firmware Osig: [PLDS    DG-16D2S        7485]
Firmware is:  iXtreme LT 1.1

Spoofing Target
DVD Key copied to target
Target is LT - ID strings not copied to Target (? worrys me)
Serial data copied from Source to Target
No Calibration data in source

now i know the "no calibration data in source is ok as have not done a full dump process but the line with the question mark worried me a little, am i ok to go ahead.also does my lite on drive need to be in its halfopen status for erasing and writing.many thanks in advance

1. You cant spoof LT
2. You arent spoofing
3. You cant spoof LT

ID strings not being copied are irrelevnat, more so as FW is the same.

Hi,

I've flashed my BenQ drive just yesterday with LT 1.0 from iXtreme 1.61. Can I install LT 1.1 now with BENQ-OFW and/or Benq_CFW bin files that JF saved? If so, which one? I think I don't have the original files from my first flash.

Thanks

You can just simply read the current firmware on the drive and JF will auto create a proper LT firmware that you can flash to your BenQ.

sorry about the spoofing coment relised it was a poor choice of words as thet means something completely different, just as a final note and im ready to go thanks for all the help in advance.

i have via 6421 pci card and have never connected anything to it or installed any drivers .

now i know there are tutorials out there for disabling drivers (which i have read) they all point to system/device manager/"scisi and raid controllers" but i dont have this section under my device manager as i think never installed card.

 now i do have in "other devices" section which i believe are devices not installed ,a raid controller with a yellow question mark next to it so in short im asking if im good to go as the card has never been installed. many thanks

Nice, thanks.

But now i can't put my drive into Vendor Mode. I've done this steps (same way i've done the first flash and the iXtreme LT flash yesterday):

- Turned on my pc with the SATA cable already on the 360 dvd drive;

- Turned on 360, ejected, removed the power cable from the dvd drive, closed half of the tray, connected the dvd cable (green lights are blinking and PBDS VAD6038-64930C is recognized on my PC BIOS);

- Into JF, MTK Flash 32 tab, clicked on Intro / Device ID;

- Got this:

Sending Vendor Intro to port 0xB000
Status 0x51

Sending Vendor Intro to port 0xB000
Status 0xD1

Getting Status from port 0xB000
Invalid Status 0xD1

Getting Status from port 0xB000
Invalid Status 0xD1

Can someone help me please?
Thanks.
