Similar question :

Will updating my BenQ drive with iXtreme LT, and then spoof it as a Samsung ms25 (it was the original drive in my XBOX before it stopped reading discs) be fine, or will it be detectable? I have the original key of my Samsung and have spoofed drives before, so that's not new to me.

If LT mimics drive responses time and that BenQ and Samsung have different values, I'm screwed and have to wait for the Samsung version.  If all drives are expected to have the same responses time, then that might work.

Any thoughts?

LT doesn't support drive spoofing.

There's no need to spoof anymore. The latest update removes the drive check but I'm not sure if anyone knows if MS can see at their end tho. If they can I think it would be safer than spoofing anyways.
It would be good if the images didn't need to be splitvid coz I have a lot that aren't and don't go on live with jtag. I've been really hangin out to try this so, THANK YOU!!

I know that LT is waveless, which is cool, cause people won't have to care for the wave of the future games (we'll see). But other than that, what else changes on LT for the users? What are the other advantages of switching to LT?

I kind of wonder the same thing too...For myself, I am still on ix 1.6 benq, and havent pached since before the summer, as I am still planning on doing the JTAG exploit when I get around to buying/installing a chip.  If LT is "waveless", does this just mean it will book any wave...or does it mean it byasses the wave/update somehow, meaning I could play games that require a dash update without updating my console??

It just means it will boot any wave version, it will still try to update the 360 if it's newer than the current systems version. You don't need a chip to JTAG with XBR.

Is it safe to join xbox live for the first time after flashing with LT?  Reason asking is that since there's a warning about system update was be done with caution.

I've never used live and need to connect to live so I can stream some video to it.  Not looking to play any games online, but might try some later at some point.

Prior to flashing from 1.6 to LT, I had downloaded the latest system update and updated via usb.

Just want to know if it's safe for me to sign up for xbox live now so I can get my update for video streaming.

Thanks

interesting... I didn't know that. So consoles updated to the most recent dash dont need to be the same model as the original?

It makes sense though seeing as how most MS refurbs have benqs and liteons in them

odd as i popped this on 2 boxes and for some reason I have vancouver 2010 not booting after passing abgx 1.02 with all greens ...and burnt at 2.4x.  It's a wave 4 and I thought LT was waveless...

is it necessary to update to this if already banned?

depends what version you already have running?  if you have a newer one you might need to reflash it to one that isn't wave sensitive (which LT isn't)

*Stupid question time!*

Why is it "BENQ iXtreme" if it also works for Lite-on drives? Why not call it BENQ/Lite-On iXtreme? I'm confused. Am I spoofing my Lite-on to be a BenQ or something during this process?

The title is effing me up.
