OK, so I've only just decided today to update my FW to the new LT FW, I used my Dummy.bin that I originally created before any flashing occurred at all and I loaded it into JF put the source target as the 74850c LT firmware, spoofed it, restarted PC l-o-eras, dosflash etc, then I wrote the firmware and now all it says is ''PLAY DVD''

Any ideas? feedback would be appreciated.

Does it do the same for originals and copys?

Are you SURE you clicked "spoof source to target"?


Are you 100% sure the dummy.bin was for YOUR console and not for a different console? ?

If he loaded lt as the source then there wouldn't even be a drive key so Im going to agree with you on that.
Either you flashed the wrong key or you flashed the wrong file.

Sorry guys, what I meant was I loaded the 74850c firmware as the target firmware, then obviously loaded my Dummy.bin as the source firmware then flashed it via Dosflash and it didn't work, just says ''PLAY DVD''

So I did the above method again and it worked perfectly!

Just one thing, is everything I explained above the CORRECT way of doing it yea? I know it worked just want to double check for future preference?

Did you spoof source to target, save to file and use the generated file in DosFlash?

Dare I say, if you used JF for LOE / Write, it would have warned you had you not spoofed source to target anyway. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Yea I don't use JF to erase & write the drive I just use it to read the FW and to spoof it to the LT firmware, then I l-o-eras it in dosflash and then write in dosflash.

Do you not recommend this way then? I've been using it for ages now.

Oggy is fairly partial to Jungleflasher (for obvious reasons (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) but he makes a good point - if you had used Jungleflasher, it would have given you a heads up.

i know there are die hard dosflash modders, but seriously, jf is already open, you are a mouse click away from being done, so u load up a boot disk and reboot your pc then run a whole new app instead.

It's just I had problems a while back when erasing and writing with JF due to it freezing 3/4 times out of 10 so I went back to dosflash as I know it's 100% reliable, reboot PC and go from the USB pen, takes seconds.
