I Got Banned With Lite On Ixtreme Lt
« on: March 02, 2010, 12:28:00 AM »

Hello everyone!

Last night my console was banned the very first time I hooked it up to the internet and did a xbox live test. (I was way shocked and way upset!) In the connectivity test in settings, Network lit up as good and connected, Internet lit up as well and said connected, but when xbox live lit up a box came up and said this console is banned due to a violation of terms and use.

I read the rules at http://pictures.xbox-scene.com/hsdemonz/rules/Rules.htm and section "Why is ‘x’ account banned?.. why was my account banned?.. why was his/her account banned?” but wasn't sure if this refers to XS account or XBOX Live account, or both?  Being I was using LT and got banned right quick I would like to have somebody wise on the subject explain it to me or to see if this has happened to anyone else.  If it violates, mods please remove the thread.  Thank you.

So heres from the start:
I have a Jasper console with a Lite on drive, the earliest/first revision.  When iXtreme came out for Lite on I built my own probe, got the key and modded it.  I've continuously updated it as new iXtreme releases came out up to LT.  Every game that was put in was a self made copy of my own discs using Xbox Backup Creator v2.9 Build:0306 when it came out and the previous version of XBC for other earlier obtained titles.
My hard drive was from an old 360 that played the same type games with a Hitachi drive in it but when it was red ringed I moved it to my new console.  The old 360 with hitachi was used online but never banned. (Wondering if this is the problem that made the HDD flagged if possible?)

So, being it said banned the very first time it was plugged to the internet and did a live check (with no disc in) was it banned due to the firmware of the Liteon iXtreme LT? or the previous versions?  Or could the HDD have transfered the flag to ban if possible?  And if it could be the disc problem, how would a perfect rip and burn be to blame?  Looking for answers before I go on to a new console, and more importantly, should I use this hard drive ever again?

Thanks for reading, hope someone can shed some light on it.

Also:
Now that my Jasper console with Lite On is banned:
I read that a banned console can no longer get updates.  Does this mean no more updates from internet?  If a new update comes in a future title can you still update your console using the game?
Just another question I had but still concerned about the original post's question (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) thanks everyone..

Checked your games with abgx360? Maybe it was flagged before...

Read the LT-Warnings:

###### WARNING ######

Warning! Ensure all disc images are checked with abgx as LT assumes all stealth/ss/pfi/dmi is correct. Disc images must also be splitvid and preferred SS v2

Warning! Lt will not save you from being banned if console is already flagged by using a previous firmware or non-stealth discs

It is also advisable to apply all system updates before flashing with LT. All future console system updates (not game updates) must be applied with caution

It was from older version of ixtreme. it seems like everybody that had 1.6 and 1.61 was banned. Even though you didn't go online it was still flagged in your console so when you did go on it would ban you. Also you can't take online updates because...well you're banned from online, but game updates should be fine.

That is not correct as I had all versions of iXtreme and I´m still online.

I think he meant all the people that have been banned with LT fw ALSO had been using older iXtreme FW previous to LT (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Everything concerning banning is pure speculation anyways because nobody knows for a fact what MS is using as a basis for banning.

But I also used all older versions and never got banned. As he descrived he never used agbx360 or even not knows it - so no wonder at all....

seriously, when are you n00bs gonna realize that there's no such thing as a "safe firmware" ? regardless of whatever c4e or anybody else can come up with, you're at risk the minute you flash your console. wanna be safe for sure ? stick to stock and stay legit.

and i don't think anybody owes OP an explanation. LT was released for free (regardless of the politics behind its release) and you're more than likely pirating games on your end so quit whining here.

if you read LT's readme, it says the minimum requirement for the fw to be "safe" is for it be installed as the first modded firmware on a box, and the games all verified as "safe". Since you have had previous xtreme firmwares, your box was already flagged whether you went online or not. Also if you had xtreme before november 2009, you probably played "backups" that were not live safe. So you failed the 2 minimum requirements.

As for hastla, you were just lucky to escape the ban wave. Nothing you did or your box did is the reason you are still on live.

Indeed. The guy was flagged for a ban before he even flashed LT.

You ban had nothing at all to do with the LT firmware.

But as been stated everyone with any custom firmware including LT will end up banned at some point.
