Oh Noes.. I Think I Have Lifed A Pad..
« on: February 11, 2010, 01:56:00 PM »

Hi, First stab at a 9c. (done loads of others, and loads of xboxOnes) so I thought my soldering was ok.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

took apart as normal, cut the tracks, checking that each cut was broke with a multi meter.
cleaned the pads, (check the still all worked) and attacked the LT.

However, the green light didn;t come on.. so attempted to resolder, still no light, even the the multimeter showed there was a connection. i.e pad on the mobo, to a fuse on the LT lite, so it must have gone thru the solderd joint.

Anyways, decided to try another LT, so carefully melted the solder, and lited teh board with the knife.. but obviouly not careful enough.

Zoom of cock up

What can i do now? or anyone in the UK that could sort this out?

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Not getting LED: Solder is not correct.
LED not switching from green to red: Cut traces are not correct.
LED shows only RED: Soldering is not correct
Not Getting 0x72: Switch timing or Solder or Cut Traces are not correct.

Seems like the soldering was not correct in the first place?

all i can suggest is to ditch the method altogether and use boxxdr method.if you think you are not capable dont as you will do more damage.

if the vias and the tracks are in decent shape i can have a go at dumping the fw for you.if i am not successful i wont charge you simple.so if you are interested let me know.i am in bradford uk.

send me a message
