Dummy From Ixtreme 1.6 - Not Possible?

Hey,
I've got one of the 7xxx LiteOns and wanted to upgrade to LT but unfortunately I lost the backup of my drivekey. At the moment, the Ixtreme 1.6 is flashed onto that drive.

Jungleflasher offers an option called "Dummy from Ixtreme" but when you hover over the button, it says it is only for Ixtreme1.5.


Is there any way to get the drivekay over SATA when Ixtreme 1.6 is flashed onto the drive or do I have to dump the key via R707* again?



*I know it is not a full dump, but I never had a full dump in the first place. I just extracted the key and wrote it into the dummy.bin

ixtreme 1.5 and above therefore 1.6 and 1.61 will work.
tray needs to be half open

I tried with tray-in and with tray half open, it didn't work. Is it because ixtreme 1.6 supports that 0800 mode when powered up with tray half open? Might that interfere with Jungeflasher?

correct me if i'm wrong, but they didn't even add the "dummy from ixtreme" option until 1.6 was out

i've used it several times and it's worked perfectly fine

although for some unexplained reason i was unsuccessful doing it the other day when trying to read a drive that had LT on it. luckily i had it backed up, so no biggie

You don't need to dump via r707. Use half tray open method maybe you don't have the tray pushed in far enough. What i do is have tray half open. power off drive. then power on. then dump and flash away. you can also try to dump via USB if you have a CK3 If you read the LT info it says you can't dump the drive after you flash with LT. you have to use the cut and switch method aka boxxdr method if you want to dump again. that's why it's important to save your keys if you're going to flash LT because you can erase and write but not dump it.
