i understand your point, i have one guy that until last week was still using 1.6 and not banned, but i know many people using 5.3 that aren't banned and none since last november that are.  the only logical explanation i can draw from this is they aren't checking for 5.3 vulnerabilities right now.  i do agree, we probably have different definitions of safe, but i literally mean safe right now until a dash update is received.

Again you are not fully understanding the concept!
Just because they have not been banned yet doesn't mean m$ dont know they have a flashed drive!

If the likes of yourself, go round telling everyone they are "safe" using 5.3a (meanwhile m$ can easily spot that they are using hacked fw - but are chosing not to ban them yet!)

How many more people will they have 'on file' ready for the next banwave because of your statements?

at which point, when the time comes, you will no doubt claim that the next dash update has detected the 5.3a fw - when in fact all you have done is increased the total number of people banned by ill advising them!

In short - when c4eva announced LT he publically stated that ALL previous fw's are detectable!

do you have the technical knowledge to disagree with his statements? - I know I don't!

So I have a BenQ with 1.6 (I'm pretty sure - had to have a swap disc for some of the newer games).

Anyways, I was banned back in Dec 2009. So last night I flashed it to the LT firmware. I turned on the 360, tested out one of the games that I needed the swap disc for, and it's reading it as a DVD - basically just like before if I didn't use a swap disc. So i took one of the older games I had to make sure the firmware was working and it still reads it fine so I'm not sure what's up at this point. I thought this firmware was supposed to read all discs and not need the swap disc anymore.

Also, all my backups are on Verbatims if that makes any difference.

Update - OK I tried using the swapdisc, and that allows me to play these newer games, so as of right now I'm not seeing any difference between 1.6 and LT (aside from the being detectable aspect which I don't care about obviously)

You can't have written LT to the drive...if you had then you wouldn't need the disc, simple as that.

Dump the drive again and check the firmware IS actually LT.  I've done countless BenQs with LT and they've all tested fine with the latest waves.

Is LT actually safe? Just because no ban wave has happened since the release of LT, we can't call it safe, I guess we will find out in a few months time when the next ban wave is out.

Every modded console is "safe" until a ban wave comes.

hey guys, im just about to put LT on my 360. Was just wondering what safety measures do you use now? Before LT I was using ABGX to check stealth etc.. but im not updated anymore with the scene. What programs or methods do you use to ah precautions in place?

Sorry if this has been asked before, pretty hard to read through all the ranting in the previous pages.
