I don't trust iso patching.

and we don't discuss it here, or advise people to do so.

Am pretty sure you can just use a sata connection and use your xbox 360 to power the drive as long as you have a compatible chipset (google). You will only be doing a DUMMY FROM IXTREME to get your LiteOn 7 series Info as your saying it has IX1.6fw on the drive.

I allways use CK3 kit to power my drives but the XBOX power will work but its allways "safer" to use something like the CK3 as the Box won't be powered on with no drive init.

GL

I will try it, thx for reply.

That is because the drive that was used to get the original game data in the abgx360 was a SH-d162c (that's what the users who submitted the data used).  Abgx360 cannot tell what drive was used to rip the game.  That is why it is important for you to rip the game yourself.

Thanks for clearing that up for me!

is the LT more rigid on the media type used? After flashing to LT I am getting open tray errors on all my memorex media that used to work on 1.61 NS. The Verbs seem to work fine most of the time. Originals work all the time.

I should expect so, there was a twitter post at one point saying they were having issues with non verbs.  That may have been resolved to an extent but they can't test every brand/combination.

You could try a pot tweak if your keen, this will adjust your lasers strength to compensate for crappy discs.  This would reduce the lifespan of the laser and to be honest I always find Verbs are simply the best no matter what as some games will work fine on non verb but you can end up having choppy video scenes.

I've been using Ritech Ridatas with 0 problems.  Printable DVD-R DL Verbaitims are just too darn expensive.

I kinda missed a few things. Been procrastinating on upgrading.

I avoided the banhammer I have one of the original liteon dg-162 drives with ixtreme 1.6 on it.

Is it advisable to flash back to stock firmware and apply updates and then upgrade to LT? Or is that just for the 7xxx, 8xxx etc series?

A sidenote question, if I spoof my benq or samsung drive as my Liteon(with original firmware) and apply the updates, would that be similar to flashing the liteon back to stock? seeing as that was a simpler method, i was going to go that route?

OR is there no need to do any of the above and just upgrade to LT?

I think I read somewhere that some people had flashed back to OFW before logging back onto live and that there box was saved from the banhammer. thats the only reason i ask.

I see games with 2 or 3 different SS v2 that don't match. SS v1 and SS v2 angle variations are usually around 1% off. How are we safer with SS v2.

Is there any less of a risk of just connecting to LIVE, without playing a backup on LIVE, with no disc in drive, and no backup game installed on HDD, just to download a XBLA game.

Hi everyone, I have been a lurker on here for years since the xbox 1 days and I have modded a few xbox 360 consoles but with this new firmware I am a little confused. I have a virgin xbox 360 with kernal 2.0.7371.0 mfg date 2088-06-10. I really want to jtag it but I want to temporarily install a custom dvd firmware. I have been reading this topic and found out that once you flash the drive with Lt Touch Firmware you have to do the MRA hack to retrieve the keys.

I have three questions that I have searched for but have found no answer so I thought maybe someone on here could lead me in the right direction.

1. Do I have to do a MRA dvd key extraction to get the calibration data and original keys before I flash in order to do the Jtag hack?

2 If I were to flash the drive (Lite-ON 74850C) with LT Touch would I still be able to do the JTAG hack later? I am not going to use the box online so I dont care about xbox live just want to make sure that I can play any game without having to use a boot cd.

3. If Lt Touch will prevent me from doing the JTAG hack later what firmware should I use instead?

Thanks.
