Thanx, I should also add GaryOPA used to do the Hitachi's way back when there were only samsungs and hitachi's so he helped take a load off C4eva. Now that he's left C4eva has had to take the whole load not to mention the new drives like Benq, and Liteons along with the different revisions. So he puts in tons of effort to get all these drive models and revisions done so no one in the community is not left out. He deserves a lot more respect from all of us guys =p

He wasnt actually commenting you, he was being sarcastic due to your lack of paragraphs and wall of text, and perhaps he didnt agree with what you said.  He probably didnt even read your post because there was no spacing and it makes it harder to read..

its a common thing to see people post "cool story bro"

Rest assured they are not commenting you.

I love all the work that had been put into allowing us to play backups and I will keep waiting for the release of iXtreme LT.  I already purchased a July Arcade some months ago in anticipation for this release.  Have not used it at all.

Thanks for all of your hard work.

P.S. I hope all those people trying to make money off c4eva's work burn in hell.  (I normally don't use that word)

What I really hope we get when this is all done and dusted is some technical explenations on what was being detected - timing, angles, whatnot.

Thats the interesting stuff.

As far as I know you can't be banned for using an unofficial hard drive.  Even Microsoft said they wouldn't prevent people from using unofficial hard drive.

I have a legitimate xbox 360 with a unofficial 250gb hard drive with it.  I do own a legitimate 250gb.  I did use the hdss.bin from the usual places.

Wow, that site claiming to be selling LT with "anti-ban" seems pretty legit.

QUOTE(dialtone187 @ Jan 19 2010, 05:37 AM) *

I'm a huge supporter of many devs from many scenes including C4eva and am a regular in the official #fw channel on efnet. Between C4eva and GaryOPA they are the only two who currently have contributed modified fw for free for us to boot our backups on the xbox 360 and save our originals from defects or used for other means. There are hundreds probably thousands of people offering modding services who are making money flashing his fw and even all the end users such as myself are saving money by being able to boot backups and save their originals from damage, try games before purchase (no rental fees), or full out pirating and not paying for games period. C4eva makes all this possible and I'm sure like a lot of us, he has bills to pay including materials to test and develop the fw he produces. Anyone with common sense can see that is what was trying to be accomplished with all the recent activity as when they first tried to pull this off with the foundmy incident and then after announcing LT was finished development over 6 weeks of delay had passed and then encrypted LT releases start popping up for sale with no official word from the team. Then after a few days a certain individual cracks the encryption and posts the results which seems to be a legit copy of ixtreme lt. Only after the encryption had been cracked and the release distributed did team jungle's twitter get updated with a status of ixtreme lt is about to release for free which leads me to believe the plan was always to release to the general public for free which they stated numerous times since the start of development but to gain some revenue they would first sell to resellers and give them a head start on sales (which they would claim was a leaked copy) and stall the official release until encryption was cracked, resellers made their quota, or couldn't hold up release any longer. This of course is all speculation (especially my thoughts on what their plans were) and my common sense at work and even if my assumptions are correct I wouldn't even hold it against them as they should be rewarded for their efforts since every other user who uses their work is gaining financially from it as I stated at the beginning of this post. C4eva and Team Jungle wouldn't even have to go this route (if my assumptions are correct that is) if more people would 'pony up' and donate now and again, I'm sure some donate but I would be shocked to see 1 out of 10 users donated to them as I am sure it is much much lower than that. Voluntary donations are obviously not paying the bills and forced donations is just asking for trouble since it would basically be selling microsoft copyrighted code which is essentially what this whole current incident is except its a lot safer since they can do it through resellers and through different people and claim knowing nothing and it being a leak. The thing I worry about though is microsoft started 'possibly' detecting the firmware itself because of additional code and response time and I'm sure encrypting the fw can't help matters of being fully self and now I'm more concerned for the free public release as if they had a perfect finished product that resellers had and now they are claiming its unfinished they are obviously going to need to change/add to it so when it drops people can't compare the two and say hey whats going on, that was the finished product. Anyways this lengthy post is just my own observations and thoughts on the whole situation and a lot of it isn't factual but speculation but people need to give credit where its due and C4eva and others have been there for us since day one and I strongly believe they deserve to be rewarded more than any other user for their efforts and if users don't like lengthy delays or these type of incidents maybe more people should consider giving more 'voluntary' donations even if its only a buck or two, there are thousands of us and if even if only 1/3 users donated it would certainly add up and actually financially show them their work is truly appreciated and there is no need to attempt other methods for financial compensation that could possibly get them into hot water. The official iXtreme LT release is nearing and I for one love the scene and will be putting this whole incident behind me and will help contribute more and show my appreciation for their work both vocally and financially. Thanks guys.

Well said.  smile.gif  This has been my HOPE too...  but my fears have overtaken my hopes.

Actually, people have been giving the sites (not necessarily that one) money and getting working LT firmware in return. That's how we are now hearing that G*****a cracked the protection on an "unofficial" LT, which is unfinished and therefore unsafe.

Any news as to why TeamJungle waited until now to comment on the leaked LT? Those sites have been selling it for a couple of days now, haven't they?
