i was trying to flash a liteon 83850C. well i read out the key, inquiry, etc successfully. saved it in a folder on my desktop to be put on a pen drive with all the FW's i have backed up. well during the write process everything froze up on me and boom, done. i had done all the precationary steps before hand to prevent this (uninstall drivers etc.) anyway whatever. but for some retarded reason i never put the saved OFW on my pen drive. a day after i had a devastating computer crash and lost the OFW i had saved on my dektop. had to re-install the OS. thats another story. anyway i read u can recover the liteon by using LITE ERAS.exe (or what ever it is) and then reflashing the FW to it. now i could be wrong on this so correct me if i am please. well the console has a vunurable kernal and dash to j-tag, but to my understanding 360 flash dump tool as of yet does not support jasper 512mb nand dumps. is this correct and if so would it even be possible to retrieve the dvd key from the liteon 83850C with kernal 7xxxx something when the 360 flash dump tool is updated to support the jasper nand dumps? ugh, that was alot! any help was be so much appriciated. ive looked around on this site and others to find a good answer to all of this but it seems i only find bits and pieces to the final answer i really need. thanks

360 flashtool can get the key for you if and once the flashtool or something similar comes out for it.you can flash xell to the console and when you power it on it will show you fuse lines and thems the cpu key.also you need to have correct exploitable nand, just cos its 7371 whatever, does not mean its vunerable as the cb might not be exploitable.

yeah i knew about the fuse lines. now when u say xell u mean a hacked xell for a jasper nand correct. also u said "cb might not be exploitable". what does that mean and how can i tell? by just trying it? anyway , great info thank u Saleem hacks.

check your dash version first, if that looks ok, then check when it was made, if that checks out, then u have to dump nand and look in hex edit, if that checks out you are good to go.  if you have plugged it into the internet since june or played a wave 4 or 5 game, you are screwed.

as far as i am aware  most new 360 consoles are blocked for jtag hack.it might say 7371 for dash but, when you check the cb you might find its not right.i got 7371 its june and never been online, its still in the box i just read the fw off the drive but,its more likely blocked for the jtag hack.having 7371 dash guarntees nothing, you got to check the nand to see if its exploitable.

what is the "cb" guys. sorry if thats a noob question. i have j-tagged a xenon before, dumped the nand and all of that and then realized that it had the 8xxx kernal and dash. i was just kinda giving it a try for the first time and really didnt know much about the whole process so i did all that work just to find out i couldnt get the lost key cause of the updated das and kernal. BUT, i learned ALOT through the process so im glad that i did it anyway. it just sucks cause that was a brand new console that wasnt mine and i had to replace it with another one for my girlfriends brother. i had never really had any problems flashing quite a few of drives but that was my first liteon and with the 83850C's u dont need to use the ck3 probe and all of that if the drive was manufactured before a certain date. when i reinstalled my os, which i went back to XP and started having problems flashing, i had realized that im pretty sure that .netframework 3.5 sp1 had either not been installed or it wasnt installed correctly or something. as soon as i installed that on my new OS i instantly had now more issues with jungle flasher what so ever with any drives. so any noobs reading this, there u go. u should always double check u have all the correct drivers (or drivers uninstalled), all the .netframeworks that are required and not have these stupid problems i have had. brand new 360, HDMI, probably ruined. anyway enough rambling. i would like to thank all of u that have posted and taken the time to try and help me. thank u very much

"CB" is a segment of code stored in the on-board NAND chip that is used in booting the XBOX 360.  There are different versions of "CB," of which only some are still exploitable by the SMC hack.  The last known machines known to have exploitable versions of this code where made before June 16, 2009.

Take a look at this tutorial.  If your console satisfies the requirements detailed by the tutorial, you can retrieve your DVD key by flashing, then booting Xell and copying your CPU-key by reading the fuse sets.

You can then decrypt the keyvault stored in the first block of your NAND dump.  Once you decrypt the key vault you can read your DVD key and hopefully generate a working image for your drive.

If you want a live-safe box, you can restore your original NAND dump and a stock dvd firmware, but this box would be more useful for homebrew and backups with Xell&XBReboot.

If you don't have an exploitable box, you can still try to get some file recovery software and do a search for *.bin files.  If you've written to the drive a lot since you lost the data, you have a smaller chance of retrieving 'deleted' data, but it might still be recoverable.
