I'm glad they're still "supposedly" working on this (taking everything with a grain of salt after the twitter hype and then no show), but come on, you can't get mad at people for getting pissed about them dangling a carrot from a string. Firmware/hacks have ALWAYS been free. The only time you pay for this kind of "thing" is when there's a physical product involved, such as a pcb for a modchip. You also can't say "well stop being ungrateful, if he wants money he can get it". Bullshit, that's not how it works. If people feel his product, LT, is worth it, then they will pay him...a lot of people don't because they are used to things in this scene being free and they know it will be provided for free from someone else if not him (I think Germia and the whole Maximus thing showed us that). And there's no reason why they can't voice their opinion why they won't pay for it. C4E is a great coder, but he is NOT the only one...if he hadn't done this, someone else would have. Tons of people have knowledge about this and the holes, probably more than C4E himself. But there's no drive if someone else is already doing it. If he stops doing it, them I'm sure someone else will pick up the reins (or try to).
Basically get off this whole adoration of C4E thing...I don't owe him anything since I never contracted him to make this FW..he can stop anytime he likes. I'm grateful, but he doesn't deserve a reacharound.
Also wanted to add a personal theory: If he ISN'T going to charge for it, why is he promoting it so heavily on twitter? Take the latest post for example: All firmwares will be banned EXCEPT LT!! What purpose is there to saying that if it's going to be free? He's trying to be a nice guy and warn us? BS, we already know we get banned for using firmware currently. Even more damning is adding the LT part at the end. Playing it up to be this huge savior that trumps all other firmwares other than the god-king version LT...smells like marketing to me.
