Liteon 93450c Repair
« on: January 07, 2010, 04:36:00 PM »

Okay, I have a Liteon 93450C that I have managed to damage by plugging the DVD
power cable in the wrong way (yeah, I know). From what I can see, only a 0 ohm
resistor and a couple of vias have been damaged (both sides). So I bypassed
them both to a trace on the other side of the board but I boot up the xbox and
get E64 or E65, so it's obviously still damaged.I'm not near my xbox at the
moment but I will post some photos later to see if there is anything obvious I
have missed (or if it's damaged beyond repair).

If it ends up being unfixable, is there any method that can extract the key
from the drive without the drive itself working?

Thanks in advance

It seems that more often than not, if that's been done to a lite-on, the flash chip has been fried beyond repair.

Thanks for the kind words. BUT the Liteon does not have a normal flash chip that can be removed and read with an external programmer.

In cases like this there are people here even better than me that can probably get your key for you. Contact syntaxerror329 and he may be able to help you out.

Thanks, but I'm in Australia. The cost of sending the drive to the US, plus repairs, plus buying a new drive is probably not worth it.I already bought a second xbox that is jasper and jtaggable, so I'll probably just sell this one for parts.

Although I wouldn't mind a 100% confirmation that the flash is dead. Are there any particular places on the logic board I can check with a multimeter to confirm that it is dead?

First system with the (probably) faulty logic board has MFR date of 2009-11-04 so the CB would not be exploitable.
