Hi,

Can somebody help please, not sure if the hole to dump the lite on drives has been closed.

I have dumped loads of 83450 rev 2 and 93450c using the method posted by Boxxdr, never had a problem, until yesterday. Got a drive that was originally an August 2009 drive, but had a sticker on it with 93450c A0A2 on it. This will not allow me to dump the drive at all !!!!!!!!

I have checked the wiring and track cuts so many times, even metered them out one at a time to ensure definitely no mistakes.

DOSFLASH states its an unknown flash type and cannot identify the flash, it can NEVER get the drive into status 0x72.

JF - my system hangs if I switch drive switch to ON, but JF sees the drive fine with switch OFF, but stays in staus 0x51 / 0x52 even after power cycling the drive.

Have Lite ON closed the hole in what appears to be a newer version 93450c A0A2?

I have a VIA chipset and have not disabled the VIA drivers, but this has NEVER been a problem in JF before.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

Scooter

A0A2 designates the hardware version, and that's current.
The problem most likely lies in your modification to the board.
Supposedly there's a flash type that prefers JF over Dosflash,
but i haven't run into that yet, and i'm up to 40+ of these now.

Two days ago I've successfully dumped the same drive. Check all the cuts and wires on PCB. Your problem is not in the drive revision.

I have checked checked checked and checked the wiring and cuts are 100% okay.

I'm pulling my hair out here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif).

Thats why I solder directly to the pin leg (pin 101), incase there was a problem through the pcb, still no luck.

Did you use dosflash or JF to dump drive?

May try disabling the drivers for via see if that makes a difference.

Read about uniata drivers, but mine won't install them for this via card.

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm always using Dosflash for new drives. And for today I've dumped several such drives.

Maybe this is the problem. Try to use anoter chipset. I use MB with nforce chipset.

Saleem - do you have VIA chipset and if so have you disabled the drivers, as in JF my system locks up when switch ON on drive. So cannot use JF to dump drive.

no i used nforce4 sata type, all i can tell you is it works a treat using the boxxdr method.the v2 of the 93450 does not need anything special,if your having trouble with your hardware the prob lies there, the drive is not meant to be detected until you intro it in first place,if you hook the drive up and get error state x51 whatever then its your soldering/cut tracks etc, they say to remove the drivers and do they recommend any other ?i dont know as i gave up on via when i got this new mobo and that was long before the 74850 came out so wherevia is concerned i am out of it.

so the error you are getting is due to the work you carried out,not via or jf.if you are using switch dump it as that can give probs, just hook wires together for on and unhook for off.

Hey there, Im not sure whether you tried changing the resistor. I had a similar problem last night and checked all my soldering but and couldn't find a fault. I was using a 22 ohm resistor and once I changed it to 20 ohm, it worked the first time. If you did do other drives successfully, Im sure that your work on the PCB is fine. Change the resistor if you haven't already and try.

Best of luck!!

this was reported to me by some of my friends , by the way each one of them is a pro modder with at least 2 years of experience with 360 modding and fixing , and this happened with me too , i am a 3 year expert in modding  , i faced one of these drives today, i did so many of those 93450c drives , flawlessly , and i did some drives with the new sticker but now i faced one of those drives with the sticker that doesnt get read using this method , i noticed that the state of the drive changes between 52 , D2 , and 80 only , 72 doesnt happen at all , so i think its a new lock , a small one is being used by lite on ,

I had one of these trouble drives a couple weeks ago. I have done hundreds of these drives but this one drive gave me hell. After messing with it for a couple hours I was able to dump it. I didn't really try anything new it just worked when power it on one time and dumped it.

people have said basicly the same thing in other threads and in the end they did them, all liteons are basicly the same and will dump with the mra method, how and what you use is up to you.if it say needed a lower ohm resistor then you would have to try that (i aint saying it does) its just this has been posted before and the drive was finaly read so your just posting pure speculation.

i did retry to dump it for about 50 times , with different timing and on the dos tools and jungle flasher , no luck , the state at the time it should go 72 ,is 80 no matter how many times you try ,by the way , the drive is one of those reprocessed by liteon , yes the one with a sticker up on the barcode , i know what you will say , i did some of those with the sticker , they dumped without any problems , but this drive is in a console with production date 9-10-2009 , so this might be the latest model from liteon , i think they might have done a fast addon to the firmware , a small one ,like the one that was added to the samsung ms28 that needed a timing trick plus the old dumping method
