i did retry to dump it for about 50 times , with different timing and on the dos tools and jungle flasher , no luck , the state at the time it should go 72 ,is 80 no matter how many times you try ,by the way , the drive is one of those reprocessed by liteon , yes the one with a sticker up on the barcode , i know what you will say , i did some of those with the sticker , they dumped without any problems , but this drive is in a console with production date 9-10-2009 , so this might be the latest model from liteon , i think they might have done a fast addon to the firmware , a small one ,like the one that was added to the samsung ms28 that needed a timing trick plus the old dumping method

they can't just do a "fast addon" like they did from 83850->83850v2, they have to change the entire memory controller to close this hole.

Slayer is correct and I just did an Elite 9 series with a mfr date of 9-18-2009, so highly doubtful...Lose the switch, probe via 101, step down your resistor from 22 to 20. Good luck!

I did one of these drives today. It had a sticker over the old firmware version.

It gave me hell for about an hour. I knew all connections was perfect.

After I while instead of just powering on the drive from my connectivity kit I pulled the power cord off the circuit board and gently played around with plugging it in and out. I made sure as I was doing this that I was just barely making contact between the power connector on the drive and the power wire. After a few moments I got it to detect, then flipped the switch and hit intro again and was able to dump the firmware.

Not sure why it had to be done that way with this particular drive but may be worth a shot for those having issues.

I had a problematic drive that I needed to drop down to 17 Ohms; neither 22 nor 20 worked properly. If it isn't coming up in vendor mode, try a smaller resistor.
