According to the "Scene" It doesnt matter weather u played backups online or not. I have a Old Box Running a benQ and about 12-13 Personal Friends All running 1.61 Since the day it was released. We all Play XBL together with Burned Games, Some of Them Compulsivly. Yet No Bann! I know pleanty of people running 1.6 and earlyer who have been banned.

The only boxes that I had banned both played a disc with corrupt DMI, so I dare care what anyone tells me about "all modded xboxes will be banned", I just don't believe it. Current bans don't seem to be any even close to the volume they were last month at this time, so as far as I'm concerned I don't see any evidence that they are deviating from the "banwave" strategy.

And as for "waiting for LT" I still wonder why bother. We'll eventually be having the same conversation about that as well. We can act like the latest firmware will protect us all we want, but what's safe today is not tomorrow. All the talk of Microsoft seeing all of us and we're all going to get banned (said as if it well undeniable fact) as well as the prophecy of the one firmware that will protect us all comes off as a bunch of people with some of the fact talking like they have all of the facts.

It has never been safe to take a box with custom firmware online, and it never will be. If you sleep around without a bag, you might just come home with VD.

Yes the flash was successful, yes I flashed the new 1.61 firmware from the mediafire link on TeamJungle's twitter.

Or have most people given up on this firmware already because it's still a stealth checking fw that isn't safe for xbl?

You must use ABGX and download Stealth file called Video_1914211B.It is about 177mb and its not coming with abgx because its too big.You must download it by yourself and put in the stealth files folder to make it work and patch properly.Make sure you are using ABGX360 v.1.0.2 or higher because older versions doesnt have support for wave 4.

just searched and compared to orig.bin's with hex editor liteons 1.61 fw,
not found any internal iXtreme 1.61 tag and seem like minimal patching close to original.bins...

maybe because this is OFFICIAL. all the others were hacked together firmware not by c4eva.

that'd make sense...but i do a strict verification of ALL my burned games with abgx. and i've been using that copy of mw2 for about 2 months online and haven't been banned...if it had a bad video partition i would have been banned long ago.

i'm thinking of goign to the unstealthed 1.6 anyways though...as long as everything is correct with the image/disc that is no less safe than 1.61, right?

Staying with 1.51 and patching all the games to wave 3 is the best for me since I have lots of relatives with 1.51 and dont want to go threw the hassle of reflashing every few months. Life is alot easier after you accept you wont be playing backups on live.

Also DL XBLA and DLC before you flash new 360 is the best method. Then disconnect the 360 forever.

Well we all know MS skips over a lucky few people every ban wave to keep people guessing, and no one knows exactly what they ban for, so you can't say just because you weren't banned nothing's wrong. Easiest way is to just run the disc through again.

But yeah, the non stealth should be no more unsafe as long as your discs are good...only thing you have to remember is to add splitvid as the firmware is no longer correcting that for you

shame on me for being impatient...I figured since the LT was not coming soon, I will be without cfw for a while. So I sold the 360 and a got a ps3 slim instead. Now its between getting 3 games for the ps3 or get an arcade from walmart!!!!

The only good thing I have to say about this release is that at least something is happening that we all care about. Because the timing of this release smells big time. To me there is no credibility associated with the main players around iX and LT anymore and to me it is obvious that something very fishy is going on with LT even though most people refuse to read the signs on the wall. It was a good run, I appreciate everything up until now knowing that nobody ever owed me anything. But from now on two Xboxes is definitely the way to go.
