It would have been better to at least give us some news on LT rather than releasing a useless firmware.

...

Of course, no offence intended, it's just that TJ or c4eva should have expected such a negative reaction. I know that we are getting things for free and we shouldn't complain but you can't do anything about the basic nature of a human being. And the "free free" shouts that some people keep saying, to be honest, the modding scene was built on morals where people DO NOT CHARGE for their content.

Well said!  I, too, hope we hear some news on LT soon.  Not to go off topic, but I'd love to know if Microsoft can "see" the firmware when the 360 updates or if they're monitoring response timings.

It's quite disappointing to see so many people acting this way about things (that they are given for FREE) for the sake of the scene. You hear people on one side bad mouthing C4Eva, while on the other side, you have people saying that some new revisions are much better than what C4Eva has created.

Well, for everyone who has said a word other than "Thank you" about this release should be shown the door and just give up on XBOX 360 modding all together.

Without C4Eva, you wouldn't have anything. You would have a bunch of guys who know about the security of the XBOX 360, how to crack it, but no firmware to flash to your drives. You should go to bed every night after you finish playing your backups and thank the Lord that C4Eva created these firmwares for your ungrateful selves, so that you may bitch and moan about it later on in life, because you don't have the decency to give thanks where it is due.

Who gives a crap if an edited firmware is better or not than the original? If it wasn't for the original, there would be no revised versions of it in the first place. I think many of you don't understand that. There are no other programmers out there doing what C4Eva is doing. No one. I've personally compared these non-stealthed versions of iXtreme to the original, just to see if speculation was correct, and it is. The only difference between iXtreme 1.6 and iXtreme 1.6 Non-Stealth is one value. One. At offset 0003382A if anyone cares. Nobody new created this firmware. They took one that C4Eva created and edited one value. So, if C4Eva didn't make this firmware, you wouldn't have it, especially not a Non-Stealth version of it...

So, go ahead and continue to bad mouth C4Eva if you want. I hope he stops making this shit for you. That way, you will have no one to help contribute these firmwares you use.

Finally, I do appreciate the fact that there is a new Non-Stealth version for the iXtreme firmwares, but this shit about firmwares and XBOX LIVE is getting pathetic. Microsoft will use all of their abilities to stop consoles from accessing LIVE with modified firmwares. That is not a point for arguing. There is no firmware safe from XBOX LIVE. If you have not been banned yet, consider yourself lucky and saved for a rainy day. The bans are not over, nor will they ever cease. You mod, you get online, you will get banned. People need to realize this and get over it.

Thank you very much C4Eva and the rest of Team Jungle. I, for one, appreciate every effort you put forth in giving spoiled people, one more thing to be ungrateful for. To those who edit these firmwares, your efforts don't go unappreciated, but to everyone else, just remember where this all started and is still coming from...

Lt would be nice, i don't why to hold it back when we all know the risks, if a get banned using LT i would go and buy another xbox and get it ready for next Lt iteration and so on.

Some people are ungrateful, yes. However, I was just pointing out that this release is useless. Honestly: why release a FW that can go to Wave 5 only when we have a NS version that can go to Wave X? (X being whatever number). I was being realistic (along with a few others) and we apparently are handed the "ungrateful bastards!" card. Thanks...

...and right on que "The World Owes Me" maggots come crawling out from under their rocks.  I don't recall where C4E/Team Jungle announced that idiots like you were owed firmware that's guaranteed to be Live Safe.

This firmware is most likely for those wanting an "official" iXtreme that works with waves 4/5.  It follows in the same vein as all previous iXtreme 1.x versions.  Don't use it if you don't want to but stop bitching and asking stupid questions.

You sir are a idiot!
He never said he was owed anything !
And he is absolutely right.
Why if you are going to use an unsafe for xbox live firmware would you put this on your box and then have to update later anyways when there is already a firmware capable of playing all waves with no need to update later on Lite-on drives.

It's pretty simple any IX based FW will get you banned eventually from Xbox Live anyways.
So why put the one on that came out a day late and would require a update in spring when wave6 comes out with the spring update rolled into it.

It is pretty ungrateful to say that a firmware release is useless. Even if you don't plan on using it. Someone will use it, even if its not you. C4Eva created that firmware you are using now for your Non-Stealth booting. He didn't make it Non-Stealth, but those who made it Non-Stealth, didn't make it at all. Was it useless when C4Eva created it? Not so much now, since someone revised it... Never say anything is useless. Cause next time there might not be a firmware to revise. Remember, the people who put their time (free time I might add) into these projects don't have to continue to feed you hand and foot. Afterall, I'm sure you have every bit of knowledge to produce a new firmware, should C4Eva decide to stop making new releases, especially ones for others to edit.

Use it or not, thats your decision. Atleast have the heart to say thanks and show appreciation to those who do the work for you. It doesn't feel good to hear people say negative things about your hard work.

People also seem to forget that this fw is mostly for those who have banned consoles with liteon drives. They don't want to keep using the activate.iso anymore. They don't need to wait for LT to come out. This should have been released right after the ban wave.

Ok but since the console is already banned then you have no reason not to just use the non stealth for Lite-on released just prior to this.

If it's already banned then why would you put a FW on that requires updates every so often when there is one that will boot any wave already available ?????

Yeah the non-stealth firmware was based off of c4eva's Firmware !
And it's only one small byte of info that was changed to make it not do the wave check.
So why couldn't he just remove the wave check himself and release the non stealth version then ?
Not to mention he would have more credit coming his way if he had been honest with the scene in the first place.

Do you say thanks to  Karl Benz  every time you go purchase a automobile or do you credit Ford,BMW,Toyota,Honda etc because they are the ones who made it what it is today?

What do you expect? Lets all be real for just one second here.

With modded firmware, you are dealing with 99% pirates and thieves. And I don't exclude myself. If you really expect them to tip their hat, curtsie, and be polite, then maybe you are in the wrong line of business...

Ever hear of "no honor among thieves"? Look it up. It applies.

If somebody wants to bust thier butt for a bunch of no-good ingrates, and then deliver a product for free, then I would think the problem is with themselves. I surely have better things to do with my time. But if it gets their rocks off, then more power to them. I never asked them to do it. Now i'll take what they are giving, dont get me wrong, but dont expect a pat on the back from me. They gave it, I took it, end of story. If it hurts somebodys feelings, sorry about their luck. Maybe they should rethink how they are using their life.

I give credit everywhere its due. Even if I own a Toyota and don't drive a Ford. I still like Fords. Ever think there could be a reason why C4Eva is still distributing Stealthed versions of the iXtreme firmware, instead of making it Non-Stealthed? I mean, we know that you will be banned for going on LIVE with both versions, we know Non-Stealth will boot all waves, we know he's not selling it, so with all of this information leaning in favor of having a Non-Stealthed version, what on Earth would make him want to release another Stealthed version of the firmware?

I'm not the one with the answers, C4Eva is, but you'd think, since C4Eva has released a Non-Stealthed version in the past, why would he want to continue to create Stealthed versions.

Seriously... Another thing, if he were to create a Non-Stealthed version, not safe for online play of course, release it to the public, he'd have no more work left to do on iXtreme. I mean, doesn't that seem nice? One release will do it all. No more worries about creating new firmwares; no more having to keep up with the newest waves... But, yet he still does. He works on new revisions and still releases them, free of charge, to the public. There's got to be a reason. I mean, if it was as simple as creating one firmware, don't you think he would free up his time and just create the one firmware for all drive models?

But if we had answers, then the "I Love You!  No! I Hate You! No! I Love You!..." nonsense would stop.

I really like this post, mainly because it sums up most of my thoughts and feelings over the past month.

As someone who contributed heavily and in various ways to both the PSX & DC scene 10-15yrs ago I'm nearly embarrassed by what goes on today.  I never did any of it for money, notoriety, or even the occasional "thanks".  I did it because I liked playing games and I knew that others did too.  I did it because I had the knowledge and it was fun to tinker.  Sharing that knowledge with others was just a side benefit.  The fact that this has become some sorry drama fest is just silly.

Great post, ingrate. Made me come out of posting retirement(I know should have stayed put, but couldn't resist).  You might be the biggest tool in the forum and that's an achievement in your own eyes I am sure.

Keep it REAL, yo  pop.gif

First off, thanks for this version of firmware and all previous versions. Thank you.

I'm relatively new to these forums but have been following modding/firmware hacking since the release of the 360. In the small amount of time that 360 has been out there almost seems to be a generational gap of the gamers. Those who were sweating, grinding, modding/hacking from the 360s inception and those which came after around a year ago and around the time of the "great ban". The latter come to forums, sites, scenes etc., like the one we have here, see the guides, tuts, all inclusive flashers, and modded firmware and don't know the history or understand the history behind them. And now we are seeing it manifest in threads such as these.
