This is perfect for banned 360's, or boxes that will never go online.
Not live safe, and not offline safe either, will be flagged.

So Takashi, from your understanding, is any firmware that is not xbox live safe just as not safe for using offline? I am trying to see if there is any firmware that is safe for me to play offline on while I wait for LT, or if the only safe thing right now is to just leave it be with stock fw.

Only BenQ Vad6038 iXtreme 1.41 Rev 2 non-stealth, and Samsung Xtreme 5.3a is safe at the moment.
All other firmware is not.
there is no safe lite-on firmware.

Edit: FROM MY EXPERIENCE, THIS HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE TRUE. Do what you want with my answer.

It's safe if you use ABGX, and your backups are ripped correctly.
Statistics gathered from my 300+ customers prove it enough for me.
Not one person running those fw's were banned. not one.
Ask other modders, same deal.

Get off my ass.

P.S. Yeah i can't understand a thing you say...

I addressed lite-ons in my post, i stayed on topic answering his question.
I mentioned other models because he didn't state what he had.

And I just replied to your misleading info. I'm out of this thread now

Thanks SS.

Takshi i would do the same. there is no need to get on here and start bitching at other members for going off-topic if you and your smart ass remarks are helping steer the thread away from the point too.

BOTTOM LINE:

iXtreme v1.6 Non-Stealth

Thank people for it, use it, have problems, questions that haven't been already answered, then POST.

I don't think either of them understood my original question. I just want to know if the update MS put out can detect firmware, i.e. 1.6ns, if I never hook it up to the internet while it is on my drive.

Edit: I understand there is no safe firmware to play on XBL... but is it just as dangerous to use any modified firmware completely offline, and return to stock when playing ONLINE? Basically, can they detect that change offline, then flag me once I connect with stock firmware.

Quick question.  With this firmware will I be able to boot up a wave 5 game i.e. Left4Dead2 with out having to use the activate ISO?

I don't plan on ever going on XBL, I'm just looking for a firmware that gets past the wave bs.

Im having a very strange problem with this FW.  It is actully, the same problem i had when using activate.iso, my system just would never read it.  every disc i put in, no matter if it is wave 3, 4, or 5 still comes up "Play DVD"  I was never able to use activate.iso on this system either.  Is there something that I am missing about it that my system wont accept it?  I know i am not alone as my friends system has the same problem?  Any help?

I have a nonbanned box with stock firmware, but I want to play my backups offline with this 1.6ns until LT comes out. Does anyone know if it is safe to flash and play ONLY offline and then flash to LT when it comes out? Or can this new update catch the change in firmware and once I connect to Live it will flag me?

The 360 will log all activity, both online and offline so as soon as you connect to live then the information will be sent to M$. To be safer, read the nand, mod the FW, use it offline, when you are ready to go back on line, restore the FW and rewrite the nand, that will put it back into a safe condition (do those steps in that order)

Is it proven that info will be logged when playing offline?
