All of the speculation over this firmware being safe on live or any current or future (LT) firmware being safe is pointless.

Even if LT is safe (assuming it is ever released) it will only be safe until MS figures out how to detect it, so technically it will not be safe. MS isn't stupid and will not allow itself to be fooled PERMANENTLY by  1 version of a custom firmware. The only way around it is new firmware constantly being released, constant updates that might even be pointless if MS can detect previous CFW on your system.

The bottom line is simple CFW will NEVER be safe on live so it is pointless to speculate. If you want CFW there is a simple solution that is cheaper than ruining a console with a ban and buying a new one, and then repeating again. Buy 2 consoles, 1 for online with original FW and 1 for offline with CFW that stays offline. If a game is good enough to be played online or if you want the DLC then just play the original disc (BUY IT!!!!!) its that simple. Christ, if the game is that good that it is worth playing online, than the $60 for it, its worth it.

Please, its common sense CFW = BAN its that simple. You might avoid a ban wave or two, but eventually MS will win. This FW is perfect for the solution I have stated, no need to update ever again just don't go on live with it... EVER

ps.
thanks to anybody who has contributed to CFW and to the scene in general.

if you retrieved key then you have the key.

every time you update you FIRST retrieve key/firmware then create new firmware and erase/flash

is this so hard to understand?

Im having a very strange problem with this FW.  It is actully, the same problem i had when using activate.iso, my system just would never read it.  every disc i put in, no matter if it is wave 3, 4, or 5 still comes up "Play DVD"  I was never able to use activate.iso on this system either.  Is there something that I am missing about it that my system wont accept it?  I know i am not alone as my friends system has the same problem?  Any help?

I have the same problem after flashing with this firmware! I can't even play wave 3 games. :| It says " Play DVD " ...

Any solution ? I'm going to flash it again, maybe is a bad flash.

The 360 will log all activity, both online and offline so as soon as you connect to live then the information will be sent to M$. To be safer, read the nand, mod the FW, use it offline, when you are ready to go back on line, restore the FW and rewrite the nand, that will put it back into a safe condition (do those steps in that order)

Can you prove that? I don't know that it's ever been proven the 360 logs off line activity and then sends the data to MS.
proof/source?
