Honestly, there is no point flashing with 1.6(1) regular if you plan on going on XBL. So you may as well go with the NS version.

If the only difference between 1.60 and 1.61 (added 4/5 (per site)) is the wave checks, And 1.60NS disables all wave checking,
What would it matter if it's 1.60NS or 1.61NS?

i use a boot disc to play new wave games on my lite on drive think im running 1.51 firmware dont know if its the lastest my m8 went to play a back up game on his 360 think hes drive is samang and it prompted and updated the firmware from the game disc assins creed 2 now all  wave games work on his without the boot disc .can i install this new firmware 1.61 on mine from a disc without using jungle flasher so i aint got to use the boot disc every time? not worryed about live as i dont play online

1) You can't flash Samsung firmware to a Liteon.
2) Assassin Creed updated his console, not his dvd firmware.
3) There is no disc that will auto flash any drive.
4) If he doesn't need a boot disc, then his dvd drive never needed one in the first place. (maybe 5.3 or 1.61)

why the fuck people still wanna use this 1.6 is beyond me.. go get a BenQ and use 1.41 Rev3-5 Non-Stealth.and spoof it as the Liteon you have in your console.. Thanks for the advice regarding the Benq, I was thinking of doing exactly this - but isn't spoofing itself detected? I've heard about people that spoofed a drive with OFW and only played retail games - and got banned. So even if the Benq firmware is "safe", wouldn't the spoofing itself cause you to get banned?

Theoretically, shouldnt this fw be just as 'safe' as 1.61 if you take care when making backups and double check with Abgx , The way I understand it is, The stealthed firmwares are to prevent people from playing bad copies as they didn't properly verify the disks, are there other things going on that I'm missing?

Yes, if you verify the rips and they all check out. This will be just as safe, it may even be safer as speculations on why ixtreme gets banned include "stealth check takes too long" to execute so MS can detect a firmware that does stealth checks. Whether that's true or not i have no idea, its a theory.

I would like to know that as well, i was on live last night for about an hour, rebooted the console a few times and signed back in, so far so good. I verified my backup twice in abgx before using it.
