Posted by XanTium | December 27 21:01 EST | News Category: Xbox360

A modified non-stealth version of iXtreme v1.6 has been released:
Quote

Patched to always act like if activate.iso was inserted, so blindly loads PFI DMI SS and goes on.

Note: in case you wonder, no it's NOT safe on Xbox LIVE.

Official Site: n/a, by ?
Download: n/a (might be illegal under DMCA/EUCD)

Ok, so nobody is giving a clearcut answer to the question I have. I know this is the same as iXtreme 1.6, just patched to activate.iso is always active, yet everyone is saying it's not safe on live. I don't understand this, wouldn't I be at the same risk if I was playing a verified ABGX game on the stealth version as if I was playing on the non-stealth version? Are the only reasons people are saying this isn't safe on live is because it doesn't check for stealth?

the only way this would be true would be if the people who got banned ALWAYS booted up their 360 with the activate disk  in. if they ever booted without it, ur statement would be invalid.

It hasn't been live tested, let's just leave it at that.

Since it'll never see Live anyway I've flashed my XBR homebrew console with this (Lite-On drive). Works perfectly!  biggrin.gif.

ixtreme 1.6 was unsafe because it was stealthed firmware and even if you used the activate.iso disc, the stealth firmware did stealth checking even before you got the activate.iso disc in to turn it off. If this firmware has been modified to not ever stealth check from the get go, then it should be just as safe as 1.41 non-stealth for the BenQ drives...

at least that how I'm observing it. stealth checking is what got people banned.. if the firmware never stealth checks then theoretically it should be safe on XBL..

Right, and afaik, only one hex value was changed, leaving stealth intact.

I meant all the stealth code is intact.
If you guys read the "other thread", you'd have seen
what was changed.

Confirmed working. Liteon drive decided to be a pain and throw errors when erasing, but it works like a champ:D
