Ty for the nice tut, but i got a problem, after i dumped the dummy.bin, i rejoined the cut traces together, however now xbox mid LED is constantly flashing, and the drive isnt getting detected with jungleflasher when i tried to flash it. (mind i also add that after i read the OFW, i spoofed it as a hitachi with ix161-934 fix.bin)

i was told to resolder the traces and erase liteon wit JF
I resoldered the traces but now my drive ejects fast and seems to smell from the eject motor or something

I tried to power on the xbox and connect to tv boxstill works but i cant eject drive have i bricked the drive?

Quick one...

I've done a full dump of my 93450c successfully... unfortunately i then screwed the drive repairing the traces. I have since bought an 83450c v1 drive and am wishing to flash with the newly released LT+. However, would anyone be able to tell me which version of firmware I use, i.e. 83450c (because that's the drive version) or 93450c (because that's what it will be replacing in the brand new Elite?

Cheers Guys!!!

which version of firmware I use?

The same as your original box.  All Liteon boards are the same apart from the firmware so you'll be fine flashing between versions.  Just ignore any warnings when you overwrite with the new firmware.

I have flashed a liteon 93450c in the past without problem using this method.
I used it with 22ohm.

But today I got 2 liteon 74850c drives with LT and the people lost their key.
I understand I can't read it with the spear, only MRA.
So I did the same thing. Cut the traces, checked it with a multimeter.
Made the necessary bridges and placed the switch.

Jungleflasher recognizes the drive as a liteon.
But when I do intro I ALWAYS get the 0x51 (or 0x52) status.
I tried all the different timings, the exact same steps that are described here, but always the same status.  sad.gif

I can flash Hitachi, Samsung, BenQ and LiteOn without problems on the same pc.
When I do a liteon erase on a drive where I already have the key,  I receive a correct 0x72 status.
I tried using 20ohm and 18ohm.
I even used the Xecuter LT switch by wiring them to the correct point.
Still 0x51 !!

The VIA drivers are installed, deleted and disabled.
Using Windows 7 32bit.

If someone is interested I can take a picture of the connections, but I'm 100% sure everything is connected correct. I have checked it, double checked it, triple checked it,...
The drive also works perfect when I reconnect the broken traces.

Other ideas?

had the same problem, liteon with LT without the key (and also with the key)
solution: when it's time to remove power from liteon, don't use the on/off on ck3, but remove manually the power from the BACK of the drive and quickly re-plug the cable (thanks djnaff on efnet)

Wow~!
These pics are going to my collection of roflz!
Seriously though, that's some of the scariest work i've seen so far,
I don't even know what to say!

There's no need to resolder anything if you have the old dumps,
just erase then flash new cfw.

edit: removed.

Does anyone know why this method isn't in the jungle flasher tutorial? Only the more difficult original MRA hack is documented. This boxxdr method has been known for a long time now.

Has anyone tried this method without using solder? In theory you could just electrical tape the wires to the traces. Maybe that doesn't provide a very reliable connection - however it only needs to last a few minutes. I guess the repair job should be done with solder though.
