Boxxdr Method For Complete Lite-on Firmware Dump.
« Reply #555 on: June 28, 2010, 04:51:00 AM »

I dont understand why people need to use 18 or a 20ohm resistor cause i have modded more than 50 of these drives(83850c v2 & 93450v) and I always got the 72 status with 22ohm 1/4watt resistor.....?????

Guys please give me answers for this...

Taken from Team Xecuter Website:

QUOTE
It was discovered that a small number of Liteon drives would not dump the firmware with a 20 ohm resistor - but required an 18 Ohm or 22 Ohm resistor (Default should be set to 20 Ohms - this will work 99% of the time)

I don't know why it varies...I stick to 19ohm...Haven't had a single issue yet!

I don't get it either. I have done over 100 of these with my 22ohm resistor. Still using the same one as shown in my pictures even.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

i wonder if the discovery was really a discovery by one person/resistor or just an observation taken from a survey of people modding.

edit: i had one of those 22 ohm resistor that didn't work, put it on the multimeter and found it's actual value was 25 ohms.  replaced it with a 22 ohm resistor w/ an actual 22 ohm resistance and still use it for those hard to reach places a vampire can't get to.

Well I did on my first try, it read and write perfectly but now after I put everything back the drive is not respoding correctly. I push the open and dont do anything just the light blinking (sometimes) so I don't know what's wrong with it. I believe my cuts still open even I resolder 2 times. Sadly I don't do the Boxxdr, I didnt the MRA one. Any help?

Pictures would really help.
You really need a multimeter to test all your work and look for faults.
Did you remove the drive circuit board to do that hack? If so i hope you got all the wires back on in the correct spots.

At least you got your key. If you have to get a new drive or drive circuit board it wont be a big deal.

BTW, just wondering if the key can be spoofed into an old hitachi drive I have.

Well it goes into a 0021 now so seems is done for it, hope it can be spoofed into other old drive if not then need a new dvd board.

Sure you can spoof it to the hitachi, nothing to it.

Of course hitachi mods are ban magnets so if you hope to use it with xbox live you really want to replace it with another lite-on. If its for offline use only then don't even bother to spoof it, just flash the new key. Spoofing is not required since dashboard v 2.0.8955

BenQ LT will play all backups even if they dont have proper stealth patching. You already sadi you are playing it offline so you have nothing to worry about in regards to banning.

hey moodcrush, I am at the same situation as you are and I was constantly checking and rechecking my cuts and resolder my traces all back together...and I haven't been able to solve it for a couple of weeks now..my drive keeps ejecting after I power on and power off my xbox....if anybody can't help us...then I guess we'll have to keep trying until we get it working, I guess we can try a spare drive and spoof it. If you manage to get it to work...I'd love to hear how you did it! and I'll definitly let you know if I get mine up and running again...
