i have 2 maximus extractors and i love them. it makes doing a 7xxx liteon much easier and its nice to be able to power the drive with my pc and not lug the whole damn system up to my computer desk

well i did a 2nd 93450 today..

but this 93450 wouldn't let me hotplug the drive while in XP.. (using VIA6421, with drivers installed) it made my system freeze... so i powered the drive on xp bootscreen... after that it worked fine

quite weird seeing as i always hotplug my drives in XP and it never freezes up

i however have via 5.80c drivers and with these drivers an erased liteon flash does not make my system freeze

ok somehow i managed to lift a pad and a piece of trace (not 101).
is there an alternate power source to repair the drive or at least get the key..ive got the key from several drives but this one lifted the pad before i got the key..

well it got worse trying to connect to the above pad..i think i'm gunna be xbox hunting for a customer :-(

(IMG:http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h60/hetster/DSCN0280.jpg)

hmm it looks like those 2 pads are connected at the top of the board and not to any of the legs of the chip..can anyone point me into which 2 they are on top of the board then i can run a wire around to at least dumpthe key..

further inspection shows me those 2 are connected on top through a fuse to the power molex..can i connect it direct to the power cable or is that fuse a resistor..

Ok so I just tried this method out. I believe I got all the wiring and soldering done right and i got JF to to read the drive with the 72 status but when I click read it reads the banks but when I save the firmware it says no DVD Key detected firmware possibly corrupt. Any Suggestions?

Getting Status from port 0x8000
Serial flash found with Status 0x72

Reading Bank 0: ................
Reading Bank 1: ................
Reading Bank 2: ................
Reading Bank 3: ................

Lite-On Dump file saved to D:\UsersDesktop\Lite-OFW.bin

Loading MTK_Flash source file

load it as target in jungleflasher and then save as a duumy..

if it says no valid F/W found it means you didnt send the intro again after 0x72 state in position open

lol @ hetster, stop using so much heat.. i thought if anyone used to be good at soldering they'd know as soon as they lift anything they're using too much heat

so why have you lifted a second trace?

man i barely got 2 hrs soldering experience.. done 3 x jtag... 1 cygnos v2.. and 2 93450c... never messed one of them up, even tho i had been eating myself due to all the nerves.. just use a 15W
