Strange, I did all of those things too...got key,  got template, flashed Jungle Flasher 1.67b

However my machine does something weird.  Originals and movies work fine, but when I put a backup in, it doesn't recognize it at all and give me, 'Open Tray' on the screen like it cant read the disc.  I've tried different discs, same issue.
 
The key must be correct to play originals, but cant recognize backups?  On a non-mod'd machine, it sees backups as DVD's which is the correct response.  

Bad firmware?  I've tried both liteon838 and the V2 template and same result.  Any insight would be great.

followed the steps from post #2
opend firmware as target and saved the dummy.bin
then opened it as source and got an error message that it might be incomplete and i could restore data by typing in my barcode etc. did this then manually spoofed the key and barcode.
but it still just would play dvd movies neither original nor backup games.

i too am at the same spot. got the key (finally), verified with 3 dumps, and now every time i save the original from the target field and try to open it under source, and it won't go (this is not a valid source f/w file). so i manually entered in the barcode and the key, but from what the guys above are saying, it doesn't work. before i waste another hour, any suggestions?

forget my last post. cross spoofing, like mentioned above, does copying and pasting work on 93450c?

finally got it to work
you load your firmware as target and save the dummy.bin
load it as source and ignore the error messages, continue anyway.
then you can save your key.bin with a button on the right side.
load the template as target and click on manual spoof.
select your key.bin. dont type in your barcode or anything else.
save it as hack.bin and flash.
if it doesnt work 1st time try ejecting the tray a few times and restart the xbox.

So before I do this, is there anyway I can use my 9x key with a benq cfw. Or is there any lite on cfw that doesn't have security checks. I have the activate iso already, I just don't want to use it if I don't have to.

Been trying with this 93xxx drive, extracted the bin succesfully, save it as dummy, loaded templates, spoofed key, etc but when I hit write in JF, it won't pass write verification, is this normal?
I mean, it writes the 4 banks, then verifies what it just wrote, then says 'verfication failed'.
I wonder if this is "Normal" or is it only happenning to me.
BTW the chip is detected by JF as  MXIC(MX25L2005) and I had no problem to get it in vendor mode (0x72).
Another question: Should I use Lite-On Erase button prior to flashing?

I assume you should erase it before writing. I am using lite-on-erase and dosflash32 myself. I only use jungleflasher to create the custom firmwares.

so i open the dump f/w as target.
then it say this is not a valid target f/w, i click ok
then i right mouse click on the target window.
the "save dummy" is grey out...so i can not save it as a dummy file.

wat can i do ?

HI everybody I also got it worked to dump the 93 Key and I used the iXtreme 1.6 templates for Lite-on 83850-v2 and 93450 from MAXIMUS
But is there a template for SAMSUNG MS28 Drive with Ixtreme 1.61 firmware out ?
because I want to Dump the 93 Drive and Spoof a Samsung Ms28 drive with Ixtreme 1.61 and the key from the 93 drive.
I dont get it worked. I tryed to save the key from the Dumped 93 original Bios but it doesnt really work.

hi, I have a problem with an old LITEON 74850 that cannot read key the easy way (don´t ask me why but I tried everything with no results), so I tried the hardmod way as last hope. I was able to dump firmware, but when I try to read it with JF it says is not a valid f/w file.
I think I can´t post the file here, so If anyone have an idea let me know. I´ll PM with It attached.
maybe there is a way to extract the key with a HEX editor? but I don´t know where I should look, I mean what string...

I know m8, I flashed over 20 83v2 the last two weeks...
but this 74 seems that doesn´t want to get flashed.
dump looks legit, 256kb, but It wont open in JF.
I must say that the xbox works fine with originals.
ill PM you with the .bin if you like, I dump this drive  firmware several times with same results each time.

did you get this sorted ? I have the EXACT same problem with an 83850c-v2 drive I have too.. If you got it sorted please let me know how
