That is true, however...if that day comes, would you prefer to be in the group whose vulnerability makes news, or in the group that says "big deal, doesn't affect me"?
On the flip side, if they intended to use it, doesn't it seem like Microsoft would have done so by now? Perhaps as drives age and lasers deteriorate, it's not reliable enough to be usable for banning?
I like to be informed. Blanket statements like SSv1 will get you banned, but SSv2 won't is complete BS. A plausible scenario where SSv2 would be needed is if the CR table has an expected value of say 90 degrees, but the actual sectors are 180 degrees apart. Would Microsoft have done so by now? Not necessarily since it creates other headaches.

Heh, if MS can't get past LT they will use it to ban people.
Huh? What? (IMG:

We just need the scene to be on the cutting edge so fewer of us get caught out by these brutal strategies MS is employing as of late to deter a minority.
This "stick it to the man" mentality is so lame. The scene is about the thrill of the hack, keeping 1 step ahead and keeping it fun. If Microsoft takes out another million hacked 360s, good for them... live with it and rejoice when the next work around is found.
