I'm just after a little assistance, i've been trying to update my samsung ms28 from ix1.6 to ix1.61 but for the life of me i cannot get it in vendor mode.

I've flashed dozens of drives over the years and never had any issues like this.

I've tried everything i can think of. I'm using a CK3 to power the drive, booted my PC with drive tray half open then opened jungleflasher and can see the drive details so know its recognised but then when i try vendor intro and press yes to resend command it starts with 0x51. I power the drive off/on within 1 second but it just sits there at 0x51.

Giving up with jungleflasher i tried to use iprep (latest) but pretty much the same deal. The drive is detected but it can never seem to get into 0x70 vendor intro mode.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as i'm going mad not being able to do it.

You have to have the active.iso burnt onto a dl disc and have the disc in the drive.

really? i thought that was only needed for pre-1.5 drives and am sure i never used it for the update from 1.51 to 1.6.

yep..the 0800 disc will let it unlock and get intro etc...sometimes i  have to use it,,,sometimes i dont. strange.

I cen´t get my drive to Vendor Mode - Status 0x70!
I have Samsung H943 drive connected with CK 3 Lite.
Jungle finds it but i can´t go on before i get this Vendor mode changed..
Now it says TSSTcorp, flash chip properties is empty.
Type status says 0x51.
What i´m doing wrong here?

EDIT: I find answer in my problem! I´d use Samsung activate disc.. Have to wait untill it reads all of it and stop spinning. Then hit the intro/device button and voilá!
Now my console runs sweetly 1.61 FW!
