How To Flash Lite-on 83850c On A Vista X64 With Nforce 610i
« on: November 25, 2009, 09:01:00 PM »

Ok I know I'm pretty much deviating from every norm here for xbox flashing but I've done a lot of research saying this can be done. This is my first time flashing an xbox so could anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial that can show how this is done or give me steps. Thanks

i don't think you can coz there's no portio for 64bit. plus you'll need a different SATA card, the nforce 610i doesn't seem to work with lo83, even the one in jungleflasher.

I heard it can be done with dosflash tho is this true? Also if i attempt it with my nforce 610i would i risk anything? And how do i know if i have an nforce 2 or 3 or whatever because i jsut read that dosflash v1.3 is compatible with 2,3, and 4 sata controllers.

If this wasn't hard enough I just found that I have one of the lite-on drives made in August, 2009.... the "09c" model and i've read a few places these are completely unmoddable is this true?

I've read some posts saying that some are moddable if they were made in August it's just a matter of luck. If I am able to get a key then the rest is smooth sailing right?

not if it's the 09version or whatever, you will have no chance with these. You only have a chance if it's an August 83850c, probably 50/50

then you aren't understanding me. currently liteon released 83850C, 83850C (v2) and 93450C. You previously stated that your drive was the 09c, which I figured was the 93450C, correct? This drive, along with the 83850C (v2) are unmoddable at the moment.
You won't be able to tell the difference between 83850C and 83850C (V2) until you actually test it out for yourself. But once again, if your liteon drive reads the number '93450C' on the top of it then you have no chance of modding this right now.

No, as it says in the title of the post I have the 83850c and the model number is DG-16D2S-09C. That being said, I understand my only option would be to test this so i was wondering if I do manage to get a key from this will anything else stand in my way? And how do I know if it's a valid key.

Yea i've seen this tutorial, I was wondering can i just use iPrep for all of this since it seems like it's all inclusive. Also I don't have a sata card I have a nforce motherboard 610i with the 4built in sata inputs (1 is used by my main harddrive).

yes you can use iprep, i did all my flashing in dos  before i found i could flash in 64bit, its safer in dos than windows to flash, but you may still need a via sata card for your lite-on drive as they can be fussy about the sataport

Cool I guess the major concern here then is just getting the key, If I manage to get a key from this drive is there a way to quickly tell if its real i heard theres some spot signs that tell u if a key is fake. Also say i get a good key will there be any other issue arising that i should be concerned with after this?

Lasly what is a com port? Because I have my main harddrive plugged into one of the sata ports i want to make sure iprep doesn't try to flash the harddrive or is this even an issue?

check out this link for the com port a nice pic for you
http://images.google...l=h...sa=X&um=1

as for checking the key i dump the key with jungle flasher and xtractor reader(more than once in each program) and compare both to make sure, if you want to double check you could get another drive and put your key on it and try it in your 360 before you flash your drive.
and you must have a ck3 or 360 xtractor by maximus (and probe not needed if you have solder skills) to dump the key.
hope this help.
