check out this link for the com port a nice pic for you
http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...sa%3DX%26um%3D1
as for checking the key i dump the key with jungle flasher and xtractor reader(more than once in each program) and compare both to make sure, if you want to double check you could get another drive and put your key on it and try it in your 360 before you flash your drive.
and you must have a ck3 or 360 xtractor by maximus (and probe not needed if you have solder skills) to dump the key.
hope this help.

Thanks for the tips man. Is it really as simple as purchasing another drive and i can flash that and use it in my xbox?

ok so it looks like I can't get a key at all in iprep. I'm going to try it in dosflash but since i have the nforce 610i my main harddrive is taking up my 1st sata input. From what I understand you need to have the xbox drive plugged into this input. So does anyone know how i can start my computer with my primary harddrive plugged into a secondary sata port?

you should be able to put your hdd on any sata port and just change the sata options in bios
and yes best way to mod your xbox is to flash a spare drive then you dont mess up anything and leave yourself with no 360 dvd key

So which drives can i purchase that will work in my xbox? Lol if i knew this i wouldn't have even bothered wasting all this time with this lite-on.
Also I can't seem to get jungleflasher or dosflash to see the drive although the drive shows up in my computers system bios or whatever.

you will still need to get the key from your lite-on drive or your xbox will not play games only dvds so you need to get dosflash or jungleflasher to work to get the key then you can inject the key into a second drive(only needed if you want to check that you have def got the right key) you can get any dvd drive to replace it with but if it is a dif model you will need to spoof the firmware to make it look like your lite-on.

if you are still havin problems with the flashing programs get your self a via sata card of ebay just search 360 via and you will find them they are only about £7ish not sure exzact price got mine a few years ago

You very well might need a via card

I believe they're available on newegg for about $12...look around

Also, you don't actually need an xtractor or such device for a liteon 83850c ....lo83 is all you need.

There really is quite a lot of info on this....just search.

I knew i didn't need xtractor or connectivity kit just really want to know why the drive shows up in my bios and im fairly sure dosflash recognized it (but was unable to get a key off it) but anything i run in xp acts like i have nothing connected. Is this simply because I don't have the right nforce or is it because I have the unflashable lite-on. Also will any dvd drive work in its place? or do i need a certain speed reader etc.
