Banned For Drive Swap? Original Firmware Lite-on--samsung
« on: February 03, 2020, 06:12:00 PM »

I have a toast Light on drive, and a spare Samsung ms-28. I already have one box banned so I'm not taking any chances with this one. I've already extracted key dummy etc files from light on, if I spoof the original key firmware into the samsung Does any one know for sure if I'll be safe on live thanks.

Nobody can say for sure. You are looking for a guarantee and since its a modded drive (regardless of the firmware on it due to spoofing) you will never get one.

There can be educated guesses and it seems like you might be ok but you wont get a definite answer

1) a brand new drive will respond the same as one without modded firmware for the same model... like one out of a new xbox...

2) there is several members on another site claiming to be banned for swapping drives and spoofing with unmodded firmware, so if what they say is true then you can still get banned for spoofing with unmodded firmware...

I'd like to know these several members that claimed to be banned for swapping out drives and spoofing unmodified firmware.. (btw - spoofing is modifying the firmware).

stealthed firmware was most likely the culprit.. 1.41 non-stealth for BenQ and xtreme 5.3 for Samsung I've tested on XBL since the ban hammer on two different consoles and have yet to be banned.. this is likely that neither console had been plugged into any network cable for months before the recent dash updates and were immediately downgraded from ixtreme 1.6 to a 1.41 and 5.3 respectively before ever going online.

still no bans... getting banned on previous non-stealth firmware which I did witness over a year ago was due to playing non-stealthed backups.. which was prior to DVD-Mulleter and ABGX ever being available. if the backups I had made back then had been stealth checked and fixed, I'm thinking that I would have not been banned..

conclusion.. stealthed firmware and non-stealthed backups WILL get you banned...

Stealth firmware is just firmware with the added "wave" checks, right?

FALSE, using stealth fw in any way will get you banned.
This has already been discussed many many many times.
Of course it's a given if you use non-stealthed fw and non-stealthed backups together.

it wasn't meant to be a combination of both.. I said using stealthed firmware and non-stealthed backups would get you banned.. they don't have to be used together for the ban to happen..

furthermore, stealthed firmware wouldn't even boot up a non-stealthed backup, due to the stealth checks it performs..
