It's a good news, xtractoruk.com found a method for write the key in the drive without erasing original fw on 74850c and 83850c liteons

or they can write the flash without erasing, or they have the original fw (more probably) because of firmguard, otherwise they will release the flash utility and simply sell these drives.

Well I guess that is an option. That would suck to go through all that only to get banned anyway cause you was flagged for a ban at an earlier date.

I would say stick with originals and stay offline until LT firmware comes out would be the cheaper and just about as safe a solution.

whats your point? since we are talking about liteon's, that actually would be a break through, since currently the only way to flash the drive is to erase it entirely first (and we don't have an original firmware backup to inject the key into)

You don't suspect you might be wrong? You just tried to proof that you know more than one of the admins here when clearly you don't. So stop being so cocky.

I promise you that you have NEVER flashed a LiteOn back to stock FW. What you read out of the stock LiteOn isn't the stock FW. That's why it's called Dummy.bin. It's a dummy with all the needed info like DVD key and such but it ISN'T a proper original FW.
This site, if it's true which it most likely is, will only use your Dummy.bin to get the needed info but they WON'T flash one of their LiteOn's with it.

I think its more likely they have hacked the Ixtreme firmware to not play backups.

XOR101 read the post they are saying they can supply a stock drive not an Ixtreme one!

If they were that concerned in giving you a totally stock drive they would be asking for the serial info.
If your drive was one of the first ones flashed you would need it to rebuild your serial data.

whats new is the drive will have stock liteon firmware with your key to use in your xbox,and be safe from being banned providing you havent been flagged previously and you now using all genuine ms gear,when the original liteon was decapped and the firmware read this has never been in the public domain, the liteon ix firmware that is flashed to a drive for back up purposes is not a original firmware altered but a fake that simulates the original firmware hence the term dummy,but now ms have now found a way to detect the difference between the two,so the break thro is someone who has had there liteon flashed can now go back on live safely if they chose to take this option, or be banned like the million that have been.

I'm still on live with no problems running a non-stealth firmware, even went back to stock firmware  a week ago and we're still playing as I write this. I don't wanna give up the drive make and model or firmware at this time because unlike all of us, I'm sure M$ is paying a 6 digit figure for someone to read all of this BS too and their doing it with a fine tooth comb.
