Samsung Ms28 + Ixtreme 1.61 Problem Reading Wave 3 & 4
« on: November 14, 2009, 07:32:00 AM »

Hello there

I have this problem and have absolutely no idea how to solve it since I was not able to find solution anywhere.

I had samsung ms28 drive with ixtreme 1.41 onboard and wanted to update its firmware to 1.61 with Jungle flasher 0.1.67. I followed this toutorial http://www.ixtreme.net/download/file.php?i...04162df95764029 and everything went with no problems but when I connect drive back to xbox it reads only wave 1 and 2 discs correctly, as of wave 3 it does not read them at all (like 1.41 fw). Wave 4 discs boot normally but after a few seconds of playing the 'cannot read disc' window pops up. I have updated previously extracted firmware (ixtreme 1.41) to ixtreme 1.6, flashed my drive back with it and everything works just fine (exept ofcourse that it does not read wave 4 discs with this firmware). I thought that ixtreme copy I have downloaded might have been corrupted but I have tried many copies (including from xbins) and everytime the same result.

Can somebody please help me ?

I have even older drive - MS25 and never bothered to go with iXtreme.
I have the "latest" Xtreme firmware available, flashed it years ago and never had ANY issues with it ( i don`t play XBL at all )
On this old FW it reads ALL WAVES + old games from XBOX 1 it is reading burned on the single layer, straight DVD+R ( for example - Manhunt, GTA etc.. ) without wasting DL dics on them ( if the game is supported on 360, then just grab a copy of a XBOX1 release, burn it to standard +R and You`re good to go).
I`d suggest going with old firmware for this drive IF you don`t care about XBL that much, i`m using it since 2006 and still happy !
Grab the last version of Xtreme for samsung from Xbins and give it a try !
