Borderlands is wave3. So whats it have to do with anything?

bad rips were available early online. that's why they ask, as it was speculated to be responsible in the first wave too.

better question should be:

was it downloaded or ripped by yourself?

RULES when it comes to BAN WAVE threads:

you can say if you DL the game or ripped it from original, BUT we don't allow you to mention GROUP NAMES, WHICH RELEASES ARE GOOD, ETC. X-S is NOT here to help you figure out which games to pirate safely.

also the BAN THREAD is here:

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=694798

this is the firmware release thread. all posts off topic will be removed.

This is why I kick myself for offering to mod peoples' systems. M$ keeps coming out with new waves. I'm all for firmware skipping the wave check. Let the people do it on their own like us Hitachi owners do.

If I flashed with the iXtreme 1.61 firmware that leaked early yesterday afternoon without NFO or a readme, am I at risk? Or should I take the time to upgrade to the firmware that came out after it was officially announced by C4E? Or are they the same?

I did a hex-binary compare, to the files leaked last night, and the official xbins release and they are the same.

Even the minor typo on the id string in the Samsung firmware (TS-493a) when it should be TS-943a.

Plus both firmwares work nice, booting wave1/wave2/wave3/wave4 original and proper backups with no
problems using various types of media.

Nice release, but now with the sudden wave of bans by M$ with all firmwares, and drives hit, I personally see no reason to contiune with all this crap of double-checking the backup disc, and making sure you it is right. It seems it does not help in getting you not banned. I rather see non-stealth firmware or less-checked firmware so no need for all this updating to support new "wave's", since I see wave5 being less then a month away, and it seems now you going to get banned one way or another. I think in the near future modding is going to be only for those not wishing to use live like it was in the days of the original xbox series.

learn to read. JF 1.67 is for ix1.61 support. this has absolutely nothing to do with the new drives.
