If I flashed with the iXtreme 1.61 firmware that leaked early yesterday afternoon without NFO or a readme, am I at risk? Or should I take the time to upgrade to the firmware that came out after it was officially announced by C4E? Or are they the same?
I did a hex-binary compare, to the files leaked last night, and the official xbins release and they are the same.
Even the minor typo on the id string in the Samsung firmware (TS-493a) when it should be TS-943a.
Plus both firmwares work nice, booting wave1/wave2/wave3/wave4 original and proper backups with no
problems using various types of media.
Nice release, but now with the sudden wave of bans by M$ with all firmwares, and drives hit, I personally see no reason to contiune with all this crap of double-checking the backup disc, and making sure you it is right. It seems it does not help in getting you not banned. I rather see non-stealth firmware or less-checked firmware so no need for all this updating to support new "wave's", since I see wave5 being less then a month away, and it seems now you going to get banned one way or another. I think in the near future modding is going to be only for those not wishing to use live like it was in the days of the original xbox series.
