I agree with this. This statement has nothing to do with hitting a nerve, but stating the truth and something that is obvious. With how things went on different forums about the 8xxxx Lite On's I think it is best to be patient and just wait for them peeps to get done with what they are doing with the Lite On fw. All it takes is one person to post about a date they heard or read that wasn't confirmed by the right people and all hell brakes loose again, and that was annoying and uncalled for last time around. Not trying to bash you for asking, but with the whole foundmy.com deal and everyone freaking out, it is just best to wait until it is released and put as a topic than to speculate or repeat something heard about a date or round about time. Good things come to those who wait, and wait we shall do patiently and respectfully, or something of the sort. Getting news about it being released would be nice, but just having the fw sometime will be even better.

If you want to TEST your activate.iso, flash with 1.6.  If you don't want to NEED your activate.iso for a while, flash with 1.61.

Modern Warfare 2 is coming next week and I want to confirm if RETAIL wave 4 games will work on a Lite-On 1.6 without the need for the activate.iso since it won't be a backup.  Or do I need activate.iso regardless if it's a retail disc or a backup?

Retail games boot like normal. It does not matter what custom firmware you have on your drive. This has been asked and answered dozens of times already.

You will still need the Activate.iso. Just like when Wave 3 came out, the originals wouldn't play.

If you are playing a RETAIL verison of the game then you will no need the activate.iso.  If you are playing a backup of the game regardless if you rip it yourself you still need the activate.iso.

You're right... and as you can see the answers still come back mixed, hence the constant questions. It's a vicious cycle.

but every rumours on the x360 are truth (by experience especially on xbox-scene)
